Response: Oh, thank goodness! I was putting off doing a big resend - I really didn't want to but none of the stuff I sent you this year got to you anywhere near the time I sent. ~~~Big relief! ~~~~ except I see you still have not gotten the Springtime Doodle PC. I'll get that one to you.
Response: I chose that string before the string thing #36 was posted. Thanks!
Response: Thank you for that and thank you for hosting
Response: The alcohol markers are super birght and easily blended BUT they are not lightfast. I should do an experiment putting a card in full sun south window half covered just to see the effect.
Response: Oh, you're so much fun to send to!
Response: It's not the nicest, but they can't all be.
Response: Sometimes they don't stick. Thanks for checking.
Response: Thank you so much for your kind words. I hope you have fun with it.
Response: Thanks for the rating and heart!
Response: Thank you! Your words are very kind.
Response: I hope so as well.
Response: Oh my! That is very kind of you to say. Made my day.
Response: Thanks! I had a lot of fun with that one.
Response: The envelope itself might be vintage - I know it is not new.
Response: Our house came with a really lovely dark violet lilac tree which just finished blooming. Now the rhodies are full out.
Response: That is the best part about being last - getting to see the completed piece.
Response: Gelli plates are fun. You can make your own with unflavored gelatin and glycerin, not as sturdy, but more sensitive. You also need acrylic paint and a brayer.
Response: Thank you for your kind words!
Response: Glad you liked it. It is dreary here, too.
Response: I hope you recover quickly. Flu sucks.
Response: Thank you for your kind words and enthusiasm. I did make the mandala card with water color and crayon with a kid's toy spinner. I found the picture of the card; the tangle used is C-KNOTS (https://tanglepatterns.com/2020/07/how-to-draw-c-knots.html)
Response: I'm glad you got this one. I only hope the first one appears one day.
Response: That's ["yolo"](https://tanglepatterns.com/2022/04/how-to-draw-yolo.html). Thank you.
Response: That's my lucky number! I'm sure you'll do a splendid job.
Response: It's the nature of the paint. Daniel Smith watercolors has some with special qualities like mica. I don't know how the "interference" pigments work, but they color shift and really only show up over dark colors. I do have some "iridescent medium" for water color (mainly mica, I think) but I haven't used it...yet. I think it's time to break it out.
Response: I'm glad you like them. I wasn't at all sure whether other people would like to look at them.
Response: I like homers, too, because I like seeing how they finally turnout.
Response: Thank you for your kind words!
Response: Thanks, I share your frustration!
Response: And thank you for rating and giving me the heart.
Response: I just sprayed it to fix it so the ink wouldn't smear and the wc would wash off in the rain. I just used Utrecht ultra-clear acrylic coating. For my good watercolors, I use brush-on watercolor varnish, matvar is one brand that's pretty good.
Response: It was a lot of fun to do. I'm glad you got it, but I wouldn't mind doing that one again.
Response: Thank you! I'm glad it finally arrived.
Response: Thanks - it's work, but not hard as it is mostly practice tangles. For some reason, I have really gotten into colored pencil on construction paper.
Response: Thanks. Yeah, I have to admit I was a bit stumped by the blue-green twinchie card you sent - mainly because your lines are so delicate and steady. You'll see. Looking forward to seeing how you met this challenge, too.
Response: Shellie the dog has decided that the tub is her safe and cool place. It doesn't look comfortable to me, but her choice...
Response: I was lucky that I had a napkin with birds on it. Thanks for the rating
Response: Thank you. Good to swap with you again. I love shading because that just transforms it
Response: Thank you - I enjoy doing them <3
Response: Please do reuse whatever I send you. That's what collaboration is all about!
Response: Thank you Joan! Now I feel all warm and fuzzy...and inspired to get back to work.
Response: Thank you, yes, it was fun. And I'm so glad you like it! I did not make the little envelope, though; I got it in a swap. It was way too nice not to use.
Response: Thank you. I hope that you or carol will post the finished version - it's always such a surprise to see how these things turn out.
Response: I was beginning to worry that the second wasn't going to make it. Thank you for your comments.
Response: It's odd you haven't received the 1st one; it was large, not outsized, but I think I put sufficient postage on it. So it's just as well that I did do the resend preemptively. Thanks for the rating!
Response: I'm so glad you like them!
Response: I'm so glad you like it. Thank you for the nice comments!
Response: Thanks, DeJoy! I saw the floating bugs on Youtube (the original had butterflies) and wanted to try it. I like the surprise! factor.
Response: That was a fun one. So glad you can use the papers.
Response: Thanks! "Morphing" is fun.
Response: Thank you - that got there quickly. I didn't like mixed media when I was young, but now I'm not much of a purist.
Response: Thanks! This one:(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPpsqvIbsBk) is the one I was able to do, while this one: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7ds0qZWmes) was so too difficult for me. Good luck!
Response: Oh my goodness! I just saw this, thank you so much. I didn't think you could still rate me. This is very kind of you.
Response: I found that my home-made gelatin plate caught the lace details better than the gelli plate. The paper used also makes a tremendous difference - plain cardstock and printing paper (arches cover, bfk rives) make almost photo-realistic impressions.
Response: Yellow ones are different - I have two tree peonies that are yellow: High Noon and Age of Gold. What zone are you in? I'm Z6 but soon to be Z5 (moving after retirement, but already planting the garden up there). ~~~ Looked you up - you're warmer than I'll be. Perhaps we can make an arrangement when AoG gets to dividing size.
Response: If you lived near by you would certainly be welcome. Thank you.
Response: Thank you for noticing - I like making & using them.
Response: I'm glad you liked it - thanks!
Response: Thanks, don't worry about it. I was mostly concerned that it might have gotten lost, being a group effort.
Response: Lol, thanks for letting me know - otherwise, I'd wonder...and more thanks for the compliment - that means more than hearts!
Response: Hawks are pretty common here - I once got one near my bird feeder. They perch differently than other birds - more vertically than horizontally. Crocus are in full swing here now!
Response: Thanks - I'm glad you didn't mind them being so much alike.
Response: I'm sorry it didn't make it through the mail undamaged. Thank you.
Response: You're probably colder than we are. I hear you guys really go hit by the polar vortex.
Response: Thank you - it's an Inkadoo stamp - one of my favorites. The set also has a ladybug, a dragonflly and a butterfly.
Response: Thank you for your kind words.
Response: I don't always get to the mailbox every day either. I'm glad you liked it.
Response: I'm glad you like it - that was my first time using this technique.
Response: Thanks Ann! My yard is too wet and shady for most roses - except for the horrible wild multiflora which have grappling hooks for climbing trees - they grow roots where the branches touch the ground (like raspberries) and grow branches from their roots and reseed like crazy. To top it off, what smell they have is not nice. But I remember the roses of my childhood - so sweet.
Response: Thank you - sending to you is very rewarding.
Response: Thanks, Angela. Kind words are so nice!
Response: Mona, thank you. I was a bit disappointed to be sending to you rather than getting from you (because I love your work), but this made my day!
Response: Thank you. That is so nice to hear.
Response: I think it's a common dog name. You're lucky. Neither my dog Nellie nor I are angelic. But we try to please.
Response: I know, but the stamp was passed to me and I didn't feel that I should keep it.There was some confusion with the zines going from USA to International or vice versa. I'm in both so I try to keep them straight sending out, but sometimes you might have extra of one and none of the other. Thanks for the kind words.
Response: Glad you liked it. Thanks for the rating.
Response: Thanks! Glad you like what I sent.
Response: You're welcome. I hope you can use them.
Response: I'm a sucker for color as well.
Response: I see this now. I don't know how I missed it before. Thank you!
Response: It was a pleasure swapping with you.
Response: Thanks! It's fun when we can play off each other.
Response: Thanks, glad you didn't mind.
Response: You're welcome. It wasn't a dictionary, but someone had kindly sent me some old book pages about fishes. I hadn't used any of them up until now because they were so interesting to read. I'm glad you liked it.
Response: Thank you, that's very kind.
Response: Thanks! I don't know if "Feela" is that much of an upgrade, but I got 152 different colors.
Response: Thanks, I'm glad this set finally showed up.
Response: I hope Angela posts the final version - it's usually such a surprise.
Response: I'm glad you like her. Thanks for the rating.
Response: Thank you. I was thinking that maybe I was supposed have done it with the jewel as flower center. I'm glad you think what I did was ok.
Response: You're welcome.
Response: I work for Westchester County and it's closed today for the storm - whoohoo! It's an art day! Thanks for rating.
Response: I'm glad you like him. He was a lot of fun to make. Thank you.
Response: Lols, that would keep me from repeating, I hope. Thank you for the vote of confidence.
Response: Aw, thank you. That's really nice.
Response: I'm so pleased you like her! The only name that occurs to me probably isn't appropriate as it is the user name of someone here who I don't know - Blue-haired Mary - but feel free to call her what you please. Was it clear how to assemble? There is a red dot on the base that indicates the front.
Response: Sometimes it doesn't take. Thanks for rating again with a heart!
Response: Being bound in glue makes it less objectionable, I hope, but I'm a glitter fan. I don't care if other people find it tacky. I wonder if anyone would join a Glitter Bomb Swap?
Response: It took 4 PMs to you, 2 to the coordinator and a profile message to finally get this rated. Thanks for the rating and the heart.
Response: Thanks for the feedback and for liking my tag.
Response: I think you're right about the contrast. Thank you for the feedback.
Response: Thanks for hosting the series.
Response: I don't mind rain and I rather like snow (it makes everything look so pretty) but I am afraid of ice. Hugs back.
Response: Thank you! The paper was cotton cold press watercolor paper and the media was wax crayon and water color - the goldfish had some mica watercolor "Yasutomo Pearlescent Watercolor" and the haddock had Daniel Smith Duotone green. It's a lot of fun to experiment with (which is why you got two fish and I still have a couple left over).
Response: I never had it before - I bought it for this swap after reading all the box labels in the grocery store, but I'm glad I did.
Response: Silver ink doesn't usually show up very well. I need to learn my Silhouette to cut letters from silver paper.
Response: I hope you like it when you unwrap it - it's the first one I've ever made.
Response: Thanks, that's very kind of you. Btw, when I was cleaning up my work area, I found the note I meant to include - I mailed that out separately.
Response: Thanks and you're welcome. I asked Santa for the 124 Crayola set for Christmas.
Response: Thank you for such nice words!
Response: I'm so pleased you liked it. Thank you so my for the feedback - that's so important!
Response: Thank you for such nice comments!
Response: The smallest was Copic MultiLiner 0.05 - the paper is hot press watercolor paper. That grabs the ink better than regular card stock, I think. Sometimes the smaller pens won't write on some papers. I'm glad you like it!
Response: Not too pink? Thank you, I'm glad you liked it.
Response: I was hoping you would - it seemed appropriate for you.
Response: You're welcome. Taste in poetry is such a personal thing.
Response: Thank you! It's called "Pop-cloud" [Link](http://tanglepatterns.com/2012/07/how-to-draw-pop-cloud.html)
Response: Your description is making me shiver.
Response: I hope we get to see the end result.
Response: Thank you for such a gratifying comment. That made my day
Response: Thank you so much.I'm so glad you liked it.
Response: Thanks for the rating and the very nice comment. :)
Response: I can't take credit for the card - that was sent to me as an extra. Thank you for your kind comments and the nice rating.
Response: That got to you faster than I was hoping! Be as extravagant as you like with it as there is no particular direction yet. Thank you for the nice rating!
Response: I'm really glad you liked it. This was the first one of its kind that I've done (art journal page).
Response: Do you ever get the Aurora Borealis? I've never seen that or ocean luminescence.
Response: I'm glad you think so - I just didn't want it to go to waste. Thanks.
Response: Thanks - sorry about the size, I guess I was doing some things in 5X7 and forgot.
Response: I had to buy more magnets to hold my collection to my steel book cabinets at work.
Response: I'm glad it got forwarded - they might not always do that for postcards. Thanks for rating!
Response: Thank you. Yeah, that gekko die cut is one of my favorites.
Response: You're welcome and thank you for the rating & heart. How did you decide to finish it?
Response: Thank you. I did work from a photo.
Response: I'm so glad you liked it.
Response: Thanks, Maria - I'm glad they got there and even more glad you like them!
Response: I'm so glad you liked them.
Response: Thanks! I can't wait to see the finished piece.
Response: I'm glad you like it.
Response: I hope you'll post the finished image!
Response: You're welcome. Did you do the watercolor and glue/ salt faux batik project? This is similar but with white embossing powder.
Response: The soda cans are surprisingly easy to work with if you have a die-cut machine and fingernail emery sponges.
Response: You're welcome.
Response: The metallic papers are fun to use.
Response: Thank you. It's nice to be appreciated. :-)
Response: Curious to see what you do with it. Thanks for the rating.
Response: It really smells great (if you like oranges).
Response: I'm so glad you liked it. Thanks for the rating!
Response: Thank you - I'm glad you liked them. The first was the worst, so I'm kind of glad I got to do over.
Response: They have a whole artists' section on their website - they sponsor a contest each year as well.
Response: I hope you'll post your completed collection at the end. It's interesting to see how other people interpret the challenge. I think the hearts inspired people more than the circles did for some reason - going by what all I've received so far.
Response: Very kind of you. Thank you.
Response: Oh thank you - that's so nice to be appreciated like that!
Response: I'm sorry the first one never showed up.
Response: It wasn't much of a blizzard - 5 inches (which somehow winds up to 2 feet on the end of the driveway). I think the snow is over now, but April snow is not unheard of.
Getting an idea is often the hardest part. Looking forward to receiving the end piece. I'll post a pic, so you can see, too.
Thanks for the rating and even more for the note!
Response: Yes, I think this one worked better for me than the one that got lost - even though I had to glue the layers together again (they didn't appreciate the wetness of the watercolor). Thanks for the heart!
Response: Refrigerator magnet is a good idea. Thanks for the heart! Did you take a picture of the card before you sent it home? I'm always curious how they turn out...
Response: That's very kind of you to say - made my day!
Response: Cuttlebug should work fine - soda cans are very thin - I cut the tops & bottoms off with a single edge razor blade and ordinary scissors. Intricate dies like for butterflies can be tricky, but simple shapes and embossing are easy. Manicure filing sponges are good & cheap for sanding & buffing. I hope you have as much fun with that as I have.
Response: Thank you, SuMay, for the heart. I hope you can use the paper even though they are only small pieces that fit in the envelope.
Response: Yeah, it was fun. I had a candle and tin dish for safety. I'm a bit curious about the before & after, but I don't really want to offend anyone, you know.
Response: Thanks for the rating and the nice comment. I'm glad you liked the octopuses.
Response: They're not as nice as yours, but I hope you like them. Thanks for the heart.
Response: Merry Christmas to you as well!
Response: I'm looking forward to seeing your addition!
Response: I'm so glad. Thanks for the heart and for rating!
Response: A regular paper punch, maybe Paper Studio Craft Punch. Thanks for the heart & rating.
Response: It's the only soft-drink that has genuine, accept-no-substitutes, sodium saccharine in it. They never stopped making it altogether, but it was hard to come by (like cane sugar Coke)... Apparently, it has a following. It's not that bad.~~~Thanks for the heart!
Response: That's so sweet~~ thank you!
Response: Yes, I did use regular small hand-held punches. I don't think it hurts them because the aluminum in soda cans is so thin nowadays and because the way to sharpen dull punches is to punch aluminum foil, so....well, time will tell.
Thank you for the heart!
Response: I know the feeling of being overwhelmed.
Response: Thanks for the heart. I used the Tetley card for the note because you seem to have an appreciation for reused found images. Of course, in my mind, it being in an envelope made it obviously a card, but I guess it wasn't really very obvious at all. I'm glad you found it at the end, lols.
Response: Thanks. I'd like to see how they get used, if it's how I imagine or if it's entirely different.
Response: Thank you - I'm so glad you liked it. :)
Response: I had to buy it mail order. It's fun to work with. I hope you get some before too long.
Response: Thank you. Lizards are hard, I think. I'm having fun with collaging though.
Response: Oh, I'm so glad you liked it.
Response: Such kind words warms my heart.
Response: It's a Dollar Store napkin that I lucked into. I wanted to try the technique of ironing the napkin and plastic wrap I saw on youtube. I'm glad you liked it.
Response: A pleasure, as always.
Response: Thanks for the rating and the heart!
Response: Thank you and you're welcome. I can't wait to get one back.
Response: I'm so glad you like it. Thank you!
Response: Thank you. For me, the text is difficult - I never learned. Even Max had a little trouble remembering; he doesn't get to read much Bengali anymore (he's been here 30+ years).
Response: Thanks - it's fun to do except for taking out the membrane.
Response: Thank you and you're welcome. Those stickers are meant for Indian girls, especially dancers, to stick on themselves, but I think they're cute on other things. I found the theme challenging, too (not a jingoist).
Response: Yes, it's difficult because it requires so much thought, but fun.
Response: I'm glad you liked it :-)
Response: We passed the equinox now so spring is over. I don't really like the hot weather but I like the light. We are north enough that it makes a difference in the length of days. Thanks for the heart!
Response: Those are really nice tangles - I enjoyed using them. I'm sure they will be well used.
Response: Thanks - I don't sew much so painting and gluing is it. I wonder how they respond to embossing?
Response: Fifteen years almost.
Response: Thank you for the rating and the heart.
Response: Thanks - I look forward to seeing more of what other people have done with this, too.
Response: Thanks for reading and liking!
Response: You're welcome.
Response: Thanks! I hope you enjoy your summer as well.
Response: You're welcome :)
Response: He sounds like a character!
Response: It was kind of thick - I wasn't entirely sure it was going to make it through. Glad it did though.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge that this swap was completed and sent on time.
Response: I'm so glad you liked it!
Response: Thank you. I'm glad it finally got there.
Response: Thank you! Welcome home.
Response: Thanks for the rating and the heart!
Response: I was waiting for the first one to be returned - did you really get it ok? Do I owe you anything on it? I don't know how much postage my husband actually put on it.
Thank you so much for the rating! Made my day :)
