I'm a literature nerd and I live in Washington state.
Here's me, in my final form as a map,
Most things excite me in some way. I love birds, maps, the ocean, trains, westerns, deserts, and wigs. I'm a skeptic and I like discussing world religions, science, quackery, and freethinking.
My hobbies include photography, sculpture, bookbinding, reading, writing, finding new music, cooking, gardening, arranging and tending to my many succulents and cacti, drawing, and playing videogames and card games.
Here is my parrot, Max:
He says "I love you", "Hey baby", "Oh chico", "Stop screaming!" and other things.
I'll love anything involving:
maps, anywhere is fine, even ones you made up
birds (especially: quail, parrots, budgies, kakapo, birds of paradise, songbirds, robins - English and American, crows, kiwis, pretty much any bird) - pictures of them, tiny figurines, stuffed animals, cards, postcards, wrapping paper, stickers, washi tape, anything with birds; I'm absolutely, completely nuts about birds
pretty papers/vellum/stuff I can write on for junk journaling
stickers (nice ones for journaling/cards)
I Collect:
round 1" pins, especially with maps or birds on them
foreign coins, especially pre-Euro ones
used stamps, especially from places far away and countries that don't exist anymore
strange and unusual maps (aeronautical ones are my favs)
postcards - See below for my country and state postcard collection spreadsheet - please send me anything that's still missing!
playing cards - the kind where each card face is different. If you have incomplete decks and are willing to send single cards, I collect Aces of Spades and Jacks of Spades
your top 5 go-to jokes (I'm not easily offended and I love nerdy ones too. Puns are also great. Anything)
a landscape of your mind (I've received a handful of these in the few years I've had this up. They are the most reliably interesting thing a person can make for me)
I'm pretty detailed and meticulous with my postcard collecting, so please check out my database if you have a moment: My New and Improved Postcard Collection
If you have anything that's still shaded in hot pink, please send it to me! (I don't even care if it's already written on) If you have a card of higher quality than the one I have listed, I'd appreciate that, too.
A huge thank you to those who have helped me and those who are always on the look-out for me! I appreciate it so much.
In addition to those place-specific cards, I also love the following: street scenes, maps, national parks, birds, the desert, trains, vintage roadside motels/foreign hotels, tornadoes/crazy weather, geologic abnormalities, mines/quarries, nuclear power, ugly freeways, rain/rainy streets, aerial lifts/gondola lifts/funiculars, indigenous people, local costumes, interesting landscapes. I also love strange, photographic portrait postcards.
not crazy about multi-view postcards unless they're from a hard-to-find country.
postcards sent in flimsy envelopes that arrive with bent corners. :`(
