Hi! I'm Lisa from San Jose, CA.

I'm 57 years old. I married for the 2nd time 9 years ago. My first husband died in a scuba diving accident in 2004. I have 2 beautiful daughters, ages 19 and 23. We have 3 people loving, hilarious Cornish Rex cats.

I ran across swap-bot while searching for ATC swaps after making my first ATC in 2010.

I recently returned to swap-bot after being inactive for a while. I loved swapping, but when I decided to take a break for the holidays in 2012 it became a 4 year hiatus! I've jumped back in by joining a couple of mail-art swaps. I'm hooked again! Creating something with specific guidelines is a lot of fun and challenges me to go in directions I might not have thought about otherwise. Deadlines pull me out of the occaisonal creative slump.

The last 4 years have included an empty nest, a major move, and lots of art exploration. A stubborn hindrance to my growth as an artist is the grating voice of my nasty inner critic. She refuses to die after many attempts to silence her.

We are currently going through a hellish home renovation. Looks like our 4 month project will take nearly a year! My art room is my refuge.

I sometimes listen to music while creating, but not always. I like so many genres of music. Hip Hop and Rap don't usually interest me.

As I've grown as a follower of Christ, I have purged my iTunes of most "explicit lyrics". 🙉
