About Me

I'm a soon-to-be Mom living in Allentown, PA. I like many things geeky, including Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Heroes, Star Trek and the Food Network. I am a freelance graphic designer, so I'm also interested in art. You'll find my tastes are fairly eclectic and I'm always excited to try new things.

Favorite Music

Well, as promised, I'm pretty varied in my musical tastes. Probably my favorite is James Taylor and Indigo Girls, which aren't incredibly different, but I also love Pink, Dixie Chicks, Jimmy Buffet, ELO, Wings, Scissor Sisters, Rascal Flatts and Aerosmith. I'll listen to pretty much anything that has a melody (so I don't love industrial metal or freeform jazz)

Favorite Books

With the end of Harry Potter coming in just a few days of when I'm writing this, I think it is fair to say that HP is my favorite series. I definitely enjoy science fiction and my favorites there are Mercury and Jupiter by Ben Bova and Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. I definitely enjoy the JD Robb books and used to be a HUGE fan of The Cat Who... books by Lilian Jackson Braun, but they aren't nearly as good as they used to be. A good thriller or mystery is always a good bet, too.

Favorite Movies

All time favorite is Mary Poppins. Other top picks would be The American President, My Cousin Vinny, X-Men, Young Frankenstein, Men in Black, Two Weeks Notice, Field of Dreams and Searching for Bobby Fischer.

Favorite Television

I watch a lot of sports, especially during baseball season. I'm also a huge Food Network fan, especially Iron Chef and Good Eats. I love the new episodes of Doctor Who and I'm enjoying Torchwood. I liked all of the Star Treks with the exception of DS9. For current American shows, I watch Heroes, Bones, Lost, Ghost Whisperer and Numbers. I used to watch Veronica Mars and Buffy religiously, but alas, they are gone.

Favorite Crafts

I have a few crafts that I'm interested in. I have a baby coming at Thanksgiving, so I'm currently working on a nice knitted blanket for him. I also enjoy doing faux stained glass and I do papercutting. I've taken some art classes, so I can do a little drawing and painting, as well.

Comment: Thanks for the great cd. When it arrived, I had to pay 19 cents, no big deal as the postal person put an envelope for the cash in my rural mailbox, but if they'd have held it until I paid, I would have had to make a trip to town, 50 miles:) thought you'd like to know for next time.

I'm still wondering if you've received my You Gotta Hear This disc? I know you said you had a stack to go through and mine might be in there, but that was over a month ago. I would hate to find out that it had never arrived- Thanks.
