Hi, I'm Carol!
I am a 40 (eek, yes 40! - my how time flies!) year old country gal. I like in rural Oklahoma on a plot of land that has been in my family for generations. I am a country girl, not a redneck or hillbilly. I do own guns and a fourwheeler, and I love to shoot skeet and go muddin' for fun; however, I am also an educated professional. I have a PhD in English (American literature) and I teach at a nearby university. I love nature and camping and going to the lake and river. In fact, we usually go for week long camping trips a few times a year.
Summer is my favorite time of year; I spend much of my summer reading books by my pool. I love any all all summer related items (from crafting stuff to stickers and paper to real items like beach balls for the pool). Spring would be a close second for seasons. I love flowers and spring colors.
I am using the Erin Condren Life Planner for 2015, and I love it. I have always loved scrapbooking, creating homemade Smashbooks, and journaling. Therefore, I am using the planner as part planner, but also as a sort of journal and place to record my day to day life (like project life). I also keep a normal journal/diary.
I have 13 rescue cats and 1 yellow lab; I love animals and the country life.
Family is also very important to me: I have a twin sister who lives on the same 100 acre farm as me (in a seperate house). My dad also lives at the edge of the property. My mother passed away from breast cancer four years ago, so my sister and I help clean dad's house every week, cook him dinner throughout the week, and spend some time with him when we can.
My fiance is the chief of police of a nearby small town; and one of my uncles was a police officer who was killed in the line of duty. Therefore, I have great respect for our officers.
POCKET LETTERS: I've just gotten into the pocket letter craze, but enjoy making them. I can use ATC size cards (not necessarily the decorated ones folks make, but blank/colored bases to use in my pocket letters)
WASHI NOTECARDS: I've also just learned to make washi notecards (basically I take cardstock paper and cute it into shapes and cover with various washi tape) and then adhere it to a notecard. These are so fun to make and send!
Cat/kitten decorations (stickers, washi, notepads, pens, bookmarks) - Any kind of cats/kittens (as my rescues are all kinds)
Yellow (white) lab decorations (stickers, washi, notepads, pens) -- I do adore puppies and dogs, but I only want items that are decorated with the yellow/white labs since that is what my Minnie is :) And the yellow/white lab stuff is hard to come by
Planner decorating goodies for the Erin Condren life planner (anything from chore stickers to to-do lists or washi tape or weather stickers or oliclips or any fun goodies)
Anything YELLOW (my favorite color)
Notepads/pens that are unusual or fun
Pretty notecard sets (notecard and envelope)
washi tape
fun shape/color/design post-its
page flags
any breast cancer awareness items
stickers
police officer related items
inspirational quotes/items
Project Life cards
new (unused stamps) -- I can ALWAYS use these
decorated envelopes
self-inking stamps
cute/decorative/unusual ink pens
Frixion erasable ink pens
ATC size cards (colored or designed but not decorated already, as I use these in my pocket letters)
Bookmarks (especially those cute kitten inspirational ones)
COLORS:
YELLOW is my favorite color, but I also like the following:
Pastels (think baby blue, mint green, pale yellow, light pink)
Bright Spring Colors (think hot pink, bright sky blue, bright teal, green, yellow)
DISLIKES: I'm not really drawn to dark colors, like browns, blacks, maroon, olive green, etc

Hi Carol, I hope you enjoy the verses I have chosen for you. John reminds us daily that not only did Jesus come to save us but also to be real to us, personal and as close as the air we breathe into our lungs. He is our source for everything.
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." John 15:5, 7-8
"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12b
Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life." John 4:13-14
Carol, it is great to swap with you again. I hope you enjoy the verses from John I have chosen for the TCHH Profile Verses - John swap.
