β β β β β Week 1 β β β β β
These prompts are taken from the public daily swaps I am hosting. (Check them out if you need more letter writing excuses!) Choose one and write to your partner.
- April 1. Introductions. Write about your letter writing history, pen pal experiences, or current letter writing habits. (If you are already pen-pals with your partner, rather than being redundant, you might instead write about your letter writing goals for the month, or just catch up from recent correspondence.)
- April 2 is National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day. Is your preferred PB&J less traditional? Does your PB&J involve a different bread, a distinctive jam, specific assembly instructions? How DO you prefer to cut your sandwich? Or must you avoid peanuts? Would you rather write about a different sandwich? Or sandwich experience? Do you have a sandwich story or joke to share? Bring it on!
- April 3. April is Poetry Month. Share a poem and why you like it.
- April 4 is Walk Around Things Day. Be literal or figurative. What do you walk around? In life, in your head?
- April 5 celebrates dandelions. Are dandelions weeds or wishes or wine? Tell your partner how you feel about dandelions and why or share a story from your life regarding dandelions.
April 6. Whatβs on deck for the week? What are you looking forward to this week? Do you have a to do list? What's on it?

April Is National Letter Writing Month β β β ββ
Because Letter Writing = Snail-Mail = Happiness! Itβs fun to have a challenge and a reason to write, isnβt it? Even if the Write-On campaign/challenge seems to have fizzled, I still write a letter every day in April.
Easy peasy:
- Send a letter to your partner following one of the prompts for the week. It should be chatty enough to give a feel for the prompt, but not so lengthy that you feel a slave to it.
- Put something on the envelope to distinguish it from a bill--a sticker or a doodle, and include your user name and the swap name. Tuck in a little letter writing themed somethinβ, somethinβ.
- Give the best of your time to the content of the letter itself.
All Group Rules Apply. Send on time, communicate, rate promptly. Sign onto swap-bot at least two days before the sign up deadline so I know youβre serious about your participation.
