Description:

Hi,

This is number 2 of our Animal Quilt Block . We will continue this block for at least a year and longer if everyone is still interested...so many animals that it can last as long as you imagination can.

This is open to anyone with a 4.9 or higher rating. Zero no sends ever! Need to have done at least 2 previous swaps. International Welcome. 100% good quality only

This will be a 9 1/2 inch block when sent to your partner. Any Animal, fish, bird, reptile that you choose. It can be pieced, paper pieced or applique. ** If everyone would send a quilt tag with their n name and state/country on and a date that would be cool. It could be written with a fabric marker or sewn on the tag. Please dont sign the actual square and leave the tag loose, that way we can do what we want with it. If you dont know what I mean e-mail me and i'll explain.

Send any extras they are always welcome for a HEART, but not required to get a good rating.

Have fun and dont be afraid to have Fun Email any questions to me. Smiles, Lori

I am very excited about this idea!!! how did the 1st one go? does anyone sign their square?

It is on my watch list and I will be signing up. Just closer to the date. Mary.

I love the idea of signing a tag and sending it along with the block that way at the end we can put allout tags together somewhere on the back of the quilt and it will be cool to show people all the swappers that helped make the quilt. I am gonna edit the swaps in the future to include one. Great Idea Cheryl!

you are welcome!!! i am an artist so i am used to signing everything! tell me about your tag idea...i am not familiar with it...how do you make them? Cheryl

They are called quilt labels..Quilters usually attach them to back of quilts with their name, date ect...but since these are squares that later will have backing and batting behind them we wont be able to attach them until later. So you could send a small about 2 inch square or rectangle with your info stitched to it or written with a fabric marker, I am sending one with your private swap so you can see one. If you search quilt labels you can also see. Lori

does anyone have a good pattern recommendation for a beginner?

fabriholic 01/20/2009 #

The easiest to do on a 9 1/2 inch lock is an easy applique pattern. I find free patterns online, coloring books ect. Go to quilters cache or blocks galore, quilting about.com, and freeapplique.com Let me know if this helps, if not I will look for some patterns to send you. Lori

Colouring books are great for applique pics. I use them a bit:) I love the label idea. I hope to meet up with #1 partner again & send her 2 labels, otherwise will just get one to her eventually.
