QnT 2014 What's in your attic quilt block swap #1

02/18/14 thru 03/18/14

This swap series is back for a new year as requested! 9Ò€ block In this swap you will make 3 different Attic Window quilt blocks for each of 2 partners for a total of 6 blocks sent this time. You may send the same set of 3 different blocks to each partner. We want a large variety of them for a very interesting finished product!

Whenever possible use bright and cheerful fabrics in your blocks.

--each mailed block will be 9 inches

--using novelty prints, scenery, or an interesting print as the item/items seen in the attic window

--the left side of the block should be a lighter color than the bottom side and can be plain or a small print fabric (sendersÒ€ℒ choice)

You may use the following tutorial for the 9inch version of this block. [link]http://www.straw.com/equilters/library/blocks/atticwindow.html

Questions or concerns are welcome.

note, in the previous rounds of this swap (2013) I received some blocks that were 9 and 1/2 inches but that's ok because I can always cut them down....be sure the blocks you send are at least 9 inches

The last batch I sent to my partners in 2013 were actually 9 & 1/2 inches so my partners will have to cut them down to 9 inches before using them in a project.

I will attempt to send 9 inch blocks this year...so no one has to go behind me and cut down my blocks.

I have a pretty wonderful selection of these blocks that I collected last year and hope to add some neat ones this year too!

I'm the one that is sending the 9 1/2" blocks, by following this pattern that is the size these will be, or the size that mine were/are. Have already gone thru the ones that I received (including an 8 1/2") and adjusted the size, so now I have no need of a 9" block, will drop out of the swap, but you swappers have alot of fun with this interesting block, I'll miss you.
