BL ~ Butterfly Color Series #2 (Yellow)
Yellow Monarch
Yellow Monarch
Among the two species of Monarch butterflies, the one in North America differs from the one you will find in South America, but the Caribbean is home to both species. You can also see them in Australia, New Zealand, and several Islands lying between Australia and Tahiti, in parts of Europe and in Hawaii.
The caterpillar may eat its shed skin in four of its five molts in the stages referred to as “instarâ€
• In the fifth instar, 10 to 12 hours before shedding its skin for the fifth and last time, the Monarch caterpillar spins a silk for it to hang. After some initial wriggling the pupa skin hardens into a protective covering for the evolving monarch butterfly inside it.
• Depending on the temperatures in summer, the caterpillar stage continues for 9 to 14 days
• The caterpillar is a voracious eater, capable of consuming an entire milkweed leaf in less than five minutes. They gain about 2700 times their original weight, and in the process, excrete an abundant quantity of “frass†(or waste).
Eastern Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly
Papilio glaucus, the eastern tiger swallowtail, is a species of swallowtail butterfly native to eastern North America. It is one of the most familiar butterflies in the eastern United States, where it is common in many different habitats.

Hi Yvonne!! I'm loving being part of the groups. Digging into the word is a beautiful thing. :)
2.What gentleness means to you.
Humility and thankfulness toward God, and polite, restrained behavior toward others. This does not imply meekness. t takes a strong person to be truly gentle. Gentleness also means giving up the right to judge what is best for ourselves and others. God is not as concerned with our comfort as He is concerned with our spiritual growth, and He knows how to grow us far better than we do. We must accept His judgment on people and issues. We tend to think it is gentle to go easy on people and try to justify actions that God has called sin. Or to let someone continue in sin without speaking the truth. Jesus gave us the perfect picture of gentleness: “See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey†(Matthew 21:5), and now He offers us His gentleness as a gift. If we allow the Holy Spirit to lead us, we will be filled with fruit of gentleness.
3.A scripture on gentleness.
Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
Philippians 4:5 | NIV
4.How the scripture applies to your life.
Christians must allow the light of God to shine through us to show others His grace, mercy, gentle spirit and loving ways. If we wrap ourselves in his truths, and allow Him to guide our steps, his glory, tenderness and gentleness will be evident and we can share His love with others. I have to remind myself daily (moment to moment some days) to curb my will and embrace His.
as defined in the Bible: An expression of compassion, seen in God’s dealings with the frail and weak, and expected of believers in their dealings with others.
Dictionary definition:
the quality of being kind, tender, or mild-mannered.
softness of action or effect; lightness.
What does gentleness mean to me?
As it says above, to be a gentle person you must also be a strong person. You must be kind and careful to others especially people who might be frightened for whatever reason. They need to gain your trust and that in itself means that you must have the strength to convince them to trust you. When you show Jesus's love, gentleness and kindness anything's possible.
The gentleness of a Christian:
It is learned.
It is godly.
God expects it.
It isn't easy.
Sometimes it comes with great difficulty and through special circumstances.
Kinds of gentleness:
A gentle spirit acknowledges the truth of what is being felt and how to respond to it.
Gentle people make and embrace the time and space between something happening and when to respond to it.
A gentle spirit is acknowledging and allowingyourself to care about things.
A gentle spirit will find reasons that ignite a positive motivation.
Gentle spirits embrace their ability to choose instead of reacting.
Cultivating empathy and an understanding that the world doesn't revolve around their perception of reality is a habit of the gentle spirit.
Gentle spirited people observe the world. They observe themselves, other people and situations they experience. The more control you have, the more space you have to choose to be gentle.
Meaning of scripture to me:
My gentleness is always evident to all. I live my life always being compassionate to others. I show kindness whenever possible even in the worst of situations. Even when someone does something to make me angry I try my best to respond in the kindest possible way.
I hope you were encouraged by my comments. I pray that your life is also filled with gentleness. God Bless You!

Sleepy Orange - Upperside of wings orange in both sexes; orange-yellow form rare. Forewing with small black cell spot. Male with sharply defined black borders on outer and costal margins; female borders not so well-defined. In winter form, underside of hindwing is brick red, brown, or tan; in summer form it is orange-yellow.
Orange-barred Sulphur - Upperside of male bright yellow-orange; forewing has red-orange bar and hindwing has red-orange outer margin. Two-tailed Swallowtail - This large yellow and black striped butterfly is truly a gift from nature. It has two tails and beautiful blue markings scaling across the hind wings. This butterfly is lovely and graceful, yet it is so rarely enjoyed up close and personal. In 2001, the Two-tailed Swallowtail made its way into history; it officially became the State Butterfly of Arizona.
Junonia almana, the peacock pansy, is a species of nymphalid butterfly found in South Asia. It exists in two distinct adult forms, which differ chiefly in the patterns on the underside of the wings.
