—SOCIAL MEDIA— I have an instagram account now where I post a picture of your mail going out (addresses redacted). I post the picture of your letter going into the mail the day I mail it- if you want to take a look, find me on instagram at: Happymailwts
it obviously contains pictures of swaps- spoilers! so if you don’t want to see your mail until it gets to you- don’t look!
As all the posts on Instagram are time and date stamped, you can indeed see they are mailed when I mark them mailed!

2025 WINTER Winter is finally here, my favourite time of year! The wood stove is working hard, and my tiny kitchen table has a basket of letters and happy mail. It is time for crafting and slowing down, mixed with some skiing of course. Please remember: I live on an island in remote Alaska, especially in winter when we have ice and snow, travel (even for the post) is slow.
GENERAL: Hi there! I’m Stephanie, an avid traveler, photographer, and hiker (as well as a bit of a bookworm). As a marine biologist, I spend more time outside than inside and my biggest love is nature.
Living in the north, however, means there are many months where I perfect the art of crafting and reading by the woodstove. Balanced by many months of long daylight hours and outdoor activities. I have a secret love for Studio Ghibli, paper crafts, and pressed leaves/flowers.
I am seasonal with Swap-bot (mostly winter) but have long enjoyed snail mail and post. I love Postcrossing and the Letter Writers Alliance (when they were operating). Perhaps my love for sending/receiving mail comes from living on a remote island in a small village with slow internet and few visitors, or perhaps simply because I enjoy getting to know new people and learn about the different corners of the world. I especially enjoy learning about the world from little day-to-day details and sharing my corner of it with others.
Getting to know new people with different experiences and diverse backgrounds, as well as sharing fun post is great and I can’t wait to send/receive post from all over. Keep snail mail alive!
NOTES: For postcards and letters and parcels: I love the colour blue, nature, and random facts (not about celebrities or TV/sports however). Especially feather theme, fossil/shell theme, stars/astrological theme, and different traditional/folk attire or traditions from around the world fascinate me. Studio Ghibli is my favourite visual media of all time, and I have a collection of Studio Ghibli nick-knacks. I have no children, so generally do not have an interest in sending/receiving things aimed at such age groups; and I am not religious, so do not have an interest in sending/receiving religious things. But otherwise I am very open to seeing what people write and create!
POST/MAIL SYSTEM: I do live remotely, and only have access to sending things via the USPS (which is slow, and even more so in winter). Mail comes in/out TWICE a week (weather dependent) AT MOST, so please be patient in me receiving/you receiving your post! If there seem to be any troubles just send me a message and I am happy to figure out what has happened! If there is a parcel involved I will make sure to send you your USPS tracking number. I take pictures of all my swaps before I send them out.
I work very hard to make sure I understand all the rules and make sure my swaps are what a person would want (and definitely within the conditions of the swap!), if you have any advice or I did something incorrectly/atypical- reach out so I can learn, fix, and do better!
