My name is Ann, I’m a shameless Gen Xer, living in central Florida but originally from the Tennessee valley. I’m an animal lover, home cook, avid reader & audiobook consumer. Svengoolie fan and Twilight Zone watcher and the Addams Family is my comfort tv. Jessica Fletcher is my idol. I collect beach glass and beach china. Love children’s books, true crime and San-X Mixed Cats (even though they are “out of print.”)
I'm married and have 2 kids - an adult with autism and a teenager. We have a small dog and 3 indoor cats plus one porch cat. Our Maine Coon rescue is a glorious beasty, the sweetest of all our pets.
I’m fascinated with the natural world: bugs, critters, woodland, mushrooms, mountains, ocean.
I love all things miniature. One of my favorite toys as a kid was my sister’s Mouse House. Like a dollhouse but populated with mice and they had sardine can beds and tiny furniture and a mouse hole door cut in the wall. When my son was little I got my sister’s husband to build a replica of the Mouse House so we could both play with it.
I also have a haunted dollhouse that I painted black on the outside, off-white on the inside - and on Halloween night I place it in my driveway for trick-or-treaters to play with if they want to hang out for a few minutes. Rubber skeletons and 3-D printed ghosts that can take a beating get lots of action one night a year.
Favorite beverages are hot tea and hot chocolate. Canada has a hot chocolate called Gourmet du Village - if you hook me up, I will love you forever ( @wunderland - you complete me!)
I love old houses, old books, kitschy images and 70's tv shows. Huge fan of Edward Gorey, Charles Addams and Richard Scarry. I get a kick out of cryptids - I don’t believe they’re real, I just love all things weird - so throw UFOs in that section, too. All in good fun.
I would love to receive anything handmade by you. I also love when folks doodle on their letters, postcards or envelopes.
Fountain pens are my writing utensil of choice, changing the inks are my favorite part - especially when the old ink and the new ink combine for an all new color during transition. I don't write in calligraphy or anything, I just enjoy the watery look of fountain pen ink.
Rubber stamps are the best, I started buying them when I was in elementary school and I still have those stamps along with others I've collected along the way. When I took art classes in college, the printmaking teacher showed us how to carve erasers to make our own stamps and I was hooked. I love thinking up a fun stamp design and then making it happen.
