I love science (especially Biology) and have worked as a laboratory scientist as well as a science teacher. My hobbies include sewing and other crafts, hiking, reading, listening to music, playing board games, spending time with family and friends. I am a foodie. My favorite colors are green and blue, though I love lots of variety. I enjoy getting snail mail and had several penpals growing up. I practice gratitude and am touched by small but personal gestures. My favorite animals are cats and dragonflies. My favorite shape is a star. I love learning languages; I can speak/understand a little French, a medium bit of German, and I am starting to learn Spanish as well. My husband and I enjoy traveling, both in the US and abroad. My husband is retired military.

I listen to all kinds of music - setting my iPod on shuffle is like a game of Russian Roulette - you never know what you're going to get. Most often, though, I tend toward 80's and 90's music (the music of my childhood).
