Please write the swap title on the envelope somewhere! And be sure to write the swap and your SB user name on the back of your ATCs and Inchies. That way I can be sure to leave a rating!
I will always give your swap item time to arrive at my house. Especially international mail! If, after two weeks it hasn't arrived, I will have the courtesy to PM you to make sure everything is okay. I will NEVER rate without PMing you first!
I generally mail out swaps on the swap deadline or maybe the day before. That's just how I work.
I don't rate swaps based on extras. So if you send a swap item that you threw together and stuff the envelope in the hopes I'll give a heart... nope. I won't. I do enjoy receiving things from other parts of the USA and other countries and appreciate that you feel I will enjoy some other fun things, but I still will only rate the swap item. So please donΓ’β¬β’t be upset if I donΓ’β¬β’t give a heart for extras-- I rate on the swap itself! I would rather you spend your time putting real effort into the swap, than worrying about trying to please/bribe me with extras. Hearts are earned by a great, thoughtful swap, not bought with extras. (From a another Swap-Botter's profile.)
I rarely send extras. I especially will not send extras just to receive a heart. I rate on effort and hope you will rate me in the same manner. But, if I have something you have listed on your profile I may send it to you just to make you smile. :o)
My ultimate, all-time favorite love story is "Gone With the Wind". I am an avid Captain Jack Sparrow fan, Lord of the Rings, and X-Men. But I also enjoy Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility. I like the old monster movies, Count Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Werewolf. THOSE were scary movies!
I like all types of music from all different eras. Music from the 50s and 60s is fun, what music is all about! I enjoy Celtic music and ballads, Scottish bagpipes, Cds with music and nature sounds in the background, Josh Grobin, and what my kids call "elevator" music (Hallmark & Walmart carries these types of CDs).
I listen to Christian Rock and the oldies rock station.
There are so many crafts I have tried and enjoyed. Painting is tops; spinning on my Ashford Traditional wheel and my Kromski Pollonaise wheel (I have tubs of fibre in my basement!); polymer clay, beads, you name it! I try to like knitting and crochet (since I spin my own OOAK yarn) but the patterns really stump me!
Through SB I discovered bleach stamping and packing tape transfers and had a blast with these ATC swaps.
I've learned that I enjoy edgy crafts. Not porn, but stuff a bit on the edge.
I enjoy baking and cooking and have quite a collection of baking pans and molds. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Eve are the times I'm gearing up for serious baking!
I am very interested in Chunky Books. I hope to be able to start creating and swapping Chunky Books.
I have been married to my hubby for 23 years and we have five kids, three still home. Two left the nest within six weeks of each other. /o(
I was born in Ankara, Turkey. There are three places I dream of going, Turkey, Ireland, Scotland.
We are active in our church where I teach in a special needs class and my husband teaches an adult class.
I am NOT religious, I AM a Christian. And there is a difference. It's about a relationship with Jesus, not a religious set of rules. You see, I'm not perfect, but I am forgiven. Jesus took me just as I was. I didn't have to "wait until I was perfect", but come to him just as I am, a screw-up, a mess, and He's made me into something beautiful and perfect in His sight!
My favorite thing is spending time with my family. I am an avid pink fan. My mom died of breast cancer October 2008 after a 10 year battle. I miss her. She was all about getting together as a family as often as possible. I want to be like her in that regard especially. Family is important.
I really like vintage items, especially vintage kitchen gadgets, dresses from the 50s, just that whole period in America's history.
I enjoy thrifting and curbing. I have some pretty nice pieces of furniture found on curbs! I'm always looking for ways to save money through cooking from scratch (LOVE antique/vintage cookbooks), refashioning, veg. gardening.
CANDY I am a sugarholic! My favorite candies are Hot Tamales and Cinnamon Gummy Bears. But I also like chocolate and Jelly Belly jelly beans. I've become hooked on Christopher Elbow chocolates (Located here in KC and in LA). Expensive but exquisite!
I can't choose a favorite color. As an artist I like all the colors. Red would be the first choice if forced to pick. But I must say I like bold colors more than pastel. And I like sparkly, shiny things too. It must be the gypsy in me!
I like pink because my mom was a Breast Cancer fighter. I'm not into the pink ribbons, but I wear a lot of pink. Pink dotees, ATCs etc. are just fine.
~ I am not fond of scented things. Some scents trigger migraines so I do prefer to purchase my own scented items.
~ No scrapbook papers/scraps. I truly have enough and just simply do not need more.
~ Items that are specific to the area you live.
~ travel brochures - the kind you get at the Chamber of Commerce that tell about local attractions (tourist pamphlets)
I do have several collections. I certainly do not expect anyone to send me any of these items. But a swap made to represent one of these items would be especially appreciated.
My collections:
knitting needles/crochet hooks
tea cups and saucers
vintage linens
buttons (expecially old buttons)
old books
vintage costume jewelry
spinning spindles
vintage aluminum coffee pots
vintage aprons
vintage kitchen gadgets
old glass mixing bowls
old wood rolling pins
church cookbooks
favorite family recipes passed down (if you are willing to share it!)
antique/vintage cookbooks
vintage knitting/crochet patterns
vintage sewing patterns (60s and older)
vintage sewing notions (lace, ric-rac, etc)

I was very impress by your dotees and wanted to invite you to my new dotee group not your average dotees
Thank you so much for your kind compliments on the ATC. When I looked at your profile and saw you really know your way around the ATC block~I got skeered! But I pressed on and decided to make you an ATC of my "hood" glad you had fun looking for the star! Hope to swap with you in the future. Best, Kaye
