I am a freshman in college, and just saying that makes me feel extremely old. This is because really I never matured beyond like twelve: I still love comics and bright colors and robots and swingsets and baking cookies and dinosaurs and kittens and I have the worst sweet tooth of all time. Although in the middle seven (almost eight) years, I did get a handle on some slightly more grown up things: bird prints, knitting, David Foster Wallace, music, chemistry and math, anything lemon flavored, good grammar, and coffee. I am a huge nerd, I have always loved school and learning. The easiest way to win my affection is fun facts. (for example: Did you know that licking ten stamps burns one calorie? Makes it that much better to send mail!) My favorite color is green and I always lose pens.
Also, I realize it's sort of sketchy that I created this profile almost a year ago and proceeded to not do any swaps, but life got in the way for a couple of months, and swap-bot sort of slipped my mind. I am here now, though!
The Hold Steady, Neutral Milk Hotel, Belle & Sebastian, Art Brut, The Animal Collective, The Smiths, The Decemberists, Elvis Costello, Ben Folds, The Magnetic Fields, Andrew Bird, Bob Dylan, The Clash, Rilo Kiley, The Velvet Underground, Los Campesinos!, a host of other similar artists.
Supernatural, Doctor Who, Arrested Development, 30 Rock, both The Offices, Buffy, Firefly, Quantum Leap, Skins, Peep Show, Veronica Mars, Life On Mars, Leverage, Glee, Community are all awesome, but my all time favorite television show is Freaks and Geeks. So good you guys.
I read a lot. My favorites at the moment are A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again, Catch-22, My Father's Dragon, His Dark Materials, Lolita, and East of Eden. Although keep in mind that for every smart-sounding grown-up book I've listed there are ten DragonLances and Harry Potters and trashy mysteries. I'll read about anything you put in front of me.
I am sort of depressingly bad at most crafts, but I have been knitting for like nine years, so I think I am not bad at that. I make mix tapes, if that counts. And I make covers for them, which involves lots of gluing and markers and sparkles. I also love to bake.
Rocket Science, Indiana Jones, Muppet Treasure Island, The Big Lebowski, Slumdog Millionare, anything even tangentially related to Martin Starr.
