Hello, my name is Jenny, it's a pleasure to meet you. I have lived in the Seattle area my entire life, I love the Pacific Northwest. I love being in nature, taking day trips to Mt. Rainier, going to beaches and crafting. I absolutely love paper crafts! My favorite things to make are junk journals and traveler's notebooks. I feel so blessed to now have an art studio where I like to spend my free time. I love the look of vintage papers and ephemera.
I recently graduated from Eastern Washington University with a BA in Psychology. I have a mental disability and have overcome many struggles, if I can be a light to others it would be so rewarding. Once I had lost hope, but one day I woke up and decided I needed to go back to school to study something I am passionate about. That was the best decision of my life. I also run a small eBay business out of my home with my mom. We have been running it together for about ten years now. We sell pre owned shoes that we sanitize and clean by hand. I am the designated photographer of the business. I have always loved taking pictures. We also wrap the merchandise with pretty paper and each customer gets a hand written thank you card. I love being a business woman, especially with my mom.
I appreciate all types of music and listen to a variety of genres. However, lately I have been enjoying listening to calm meditation music while I craft in my studio. It soothes me and allows my mind to relax while I create.
I am an avid paper crafter! I use all vintage materials, like old childrens books and vintage floral books. I especially love making junk journals! I make them for friends and family. I love to collect all types of pretty paper, book pages, ledger paper, wallpaper, etc and put them together in unexpected ways. I also love all the Keri Smith art journals. I have completed Wreck This Journal and Pocket Scavenger. I have always been a souvenir collector and keep the items I find in journals or little drawers, ever since I was a kid. I still have scrapbooks I made as a child and I cherish them dearly.
I also studied Interior Design for 2.5 years and love sketching architecture, especially old churches. We were assigned to sketch 50 different architecture structures in one of my classes, and I still enjoy sketching when I can to keep up on my practice. I also had a project where I was to design a small residential house and provide a story behind it along with 10 different hand drafted drawings of this house. I came up with a house in Spain, and called it the 4-corner cottage. It was a unique design and at times difficult to draft because of the complex shape to it, but it was such a great learning experience. Along with sketching architecture, I also enjoy home decorating. At the thrift store I work at, I am responsible for displays and use all kinds of dΓΒ©cor, vases, mason jars, faux flowers, etc. to spruce up the store! I enjoy this part of my job the most, for as long as I can remember I have always been arranging and rearranging my knick knack shelves.
