Hi! My name is Jen, and I'm a complete newbie when it comes to this swapping stuff. But I love stationery and hand written notes, so I'm excited to give it a try!

I am from Michigan, but have lived in Arizona, Colorado and Kentucky. I travel for my job, so I've also been to many other states.

Interesting fact: I'm allergic to almost everything. Lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, trees and tree nuts, basically all my favorite foods are off limits :( Too bad I'm not allergic to sugar or I'd be a lot less pudgy :P

I have an Australian Cattle Dog who is much too smart. And we both enjoy long runs, but hate hiking. (Not even kidding, the pup hates hikes!)

My other interests include literally anything and everything: archery, dance, CrossFit, kickball, sewing, reenacting, baking, knitting, reading, etc...

I'm interested in where you're from, what you do for a living, how you spend your daily life, the best place to visit in your home town or country, favorite foods, your preferred transportation method, and any other tidbits you'd like to share. I'm also great at giving advice if you prefer to skip the small talk and want to have a deep and meaningful conversation :P

I like all music! Especially the kind you can dance to. Top 40, Hip Hop, Salsa, World, Christian, 80s, Pop. I think the only stuff I don't like is heavy metal/rock.

Lately I've been super into BTS. My friends are ARMY, and I'm slowly becoming one too :)

Fave songs at the moment include: Mikrokosmos - BTS; De Cero - CNCO; The Beautiful Game - RAC, St. Lucia; Serendipity - BTS.

Favorite genres:

1. Slow Burn Romance - Julia Quinn, Julie Klassen
2. Fantasy - Kelley Armstrong, Naomi Novik, Emily Croy Barker, George RR Martin, Sharon Shinn, Robin McKinley
3. Non-fiction - particularly focused on the history of communism, dictatorships, or fallen monarchies. The numerous books on escaped North Korean refugees are super interesting.
4. Historical fiction - Philippa Gregory

And so many more authors!

Rom-coms... Especially well written and slow to develop romances. I hate love at first sight tropes.

I don't watch a lot of American TV except Game of Thrones and Stranger Things. I did binge both!

I watch mini-series on Netflix like Anne.

But mostly I watch Korean dramas. I started about 12 years ago while working in my University's international center. And have been hooked ever since! I've started learning Korean to help with subtitles, but am no where near fluent. Last year I was introduced to BTS and it has fueled my addiction! LOL

If you haven't noticed a pattern yet, I'm into everything. I'm a real Jack of all trades, Master of none type. What do you like to do? Anything you could teach me??

I: Sew; Costume; Quilt; Knit; Crochet; Cross-stitch; Bake (is that a craft?); Embroider; Paint (watercolor, acrylic); Draw (ink, pencil, pastels, copics); Graphic design; Photograph; Make jewelry; Make clay things (polymer, pottery, etc); Woodwork; Write (poems, but I'm really trying to finish NaNoWriMo one of these years); Felt; Bead; Etc...

And I'm hoping to learn how to lace (tambour and/or bobbin) and blacksmith at some point in the future!

I'm an Anthropology major, so I love learning about new people, cultures, day to day life, things that make you or your surroundings unique... What do you eat for breakfast? How much do you pay for the bus? What's your job and did you plan to be that when you grew up? And so on...

Feel free to write as if we've been talking for years. Launch into a random story about your neighbor's dog that won't stop barking at 3am... I love that kind of random stuff!
