IMPORTANT NOTE: I was on swap-bot for awhile in 2010-2011 and really enjoyed it. However, in the spring of 2011, I was going through a really rough time in my personal life, and neglected sending mail (including through this website). Sadly, this means I flaked on a handful of swaps here - I hate to be that person, and I have now contacted those people to try and make up for it, 4 years later. I understand there's only so much I can do, but I wanted to try. I'd really appreciate if this wonderful community could give me a second chance. I'm doing much better now, and I miss the days of sending and receiving happy mail!

I'm Jocelyn. I'm 24 and just moved back to my hometown for the first time as an adult - it's been interesting, seeing such a familiar place from a new perspective! It's a cool city, though, and while I don't intend to stay forever, I'm happy for now.

My hobbies include traveling, reading, taking MOOCs, wandering aimlessly, competing in bar trivia nights, drinking tea in the daytime and wine at night (or vice versa sometimes), writing letters, thrifting, watching more television than is good for me, debating public policy issues with random people I meet in bars, volunteering for several different community organizations, cooking and eating delicious vegetarian food, learning about awesome women in history that I should have known about sooner, and people watching.

My favorite punctuation mark is the semicolon, closely followed by the ampersand and the Oxford comma.

I'm always interested in learning what other people do for a living, since I still don't know what I want to be when I "grow up." Been a legal adult for years, but I don't feel like one!

My favorite music spans genres from country to rap to Hindi pop to Broadway soundtracks to techno to indie rock to punk. Whatever's good, really.

I like travel books (Ayun Halliday, Rolf Potts, David Lida), young adult books (Sarah Dessen, John Green, Maureen Johnson, Scott Westerfeld, Gabrielle Zevin, David Levithan), whimsical fantasy novels (Clive Barker's "Abarat"), dystopian books (the Giver, Delirium by Lauren Oliver), children's books (Roald Dahl, Harriet the Spy, A Wrinkle In Time, Nancy Drew, Harry Potter), and many more. I also like reading nonfiction related to my academic interests (modern political history, history of activist movements, etc.).

I love postcards, written and stamped please! My favorite types are non-touristy postcards. Have something a little weird, creative, or different? Send it my way! I collect postcards with quotes on the front, portraits of famous people, maps of public transit systems, and vintage reprints (or actual vintage cards, of course).

For any food-related swaps, please know that I am a vegetarian (but not vegan, I do eat eggs and dairy).

Not a huge fan of cartoon-y cutesy kawaii type things most of the time.
