I am 38 and female. I live on farm in rural Arkansas. We raise an organic garden, chickens, and pygmy goats. I haven't always lived on a farm... I'm an old punk rocker that was raised by a familial band of gypsies, really, and have lived here and there throughout my life.
I like painting, drawing, art journaling, sewing and crochet, making assemblages and jewelry, and baking, especially breads.
I prefer the natural over the synthetic. Handmade, recycled, upcycled, repurposed, found, embellished.
I collect a few things. Keys of all kinds, small tins, things with mushrooms or goats on them, and I can't get enough of those fake ornamental birds--I put them everywhere.
I love all colors, especially when they are mixed into vibrant, bohemian patterns.
As far as colors that I wear, lots of blues and greens. Teal, aqua, olive.
I like odd ephemera, beautiful feathers, interesting fabrics, buttons and beads.
My mantra lately is "Start where you are. Use what you have. Do you what you can." I suffer from depression, and it seems like each time I battle my way through one, I am starting over in so many ways. One thing that helped through recent depression was the days I would think of friends going through their own hard times, and I would put together a little package with a letter and things I had found or made for them. And then I would get the nicest phone call or mail in return. It was double happiness.
So this is my motivation for joining Swap-Bot. It is nice to get happy mail, and equally nice to receive it.
I am open to having pen-pals, or even just doing one time profile based swaps if anyone reading this feels inclined... private message me.
