Hi!
I'm Abby, I'm a 21 year-old student at Michigan State University. I'm really interested in museum studies, history (all kinds, asking me to pick a favorite thing to study is just too hard), and writing.
My favorite colors are mustard yellow, all shades of blue and green, and gray.
I love sloths, guinea pigs, dogs, cats, and giraffes. I like llamas, hedgehogs, and alpacas too!
I have two senior cats, Max (a male) and Pepper (a female), a 2 year old cat named Ishmael, and a one year old Chihuahua mutt named Ficus. I love these guys to death and try to spend as much time as humanly possible with them.
I love to travel. I always have and it has always been a huge part of my life. The goal is to one day travel all over the world to different continents (but I really have no desire to step foot on Antarctica).
Can't wait to hear from you!
This is really hard to list because I know I won't remember everything I like, but it's pretty much every genre you can think of. I like at least a small portion of each genre of music.
Bands/Artists I love: -Marina and the Diamonds -Louis Armstrong -Johnny Cash -Fall Out Boy -The Killers -Alabama Shakes
Honestly, picking out bands and artists is hard because I don't know which ones to list. I really, really love folk music too.
So I'm a huge reader and I am a book-hoarder. I have a goodreads account, but it's really hard to keep it up given the rate that I read. I am going to list a few of my favorites though, and hopefully it gives you an idea of the sort of books I like!
-The Harry Potter Series -All of Alison Weir's novels and non-fiction -Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte -Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte -Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell -The Various Works of Neil Gaiman
And of course many, many more.
I am a Netflix junkie. I love movies. I love them almost as much as I love books. I'm a huge fan of independent comedies, Quentin Tarantino, mob movies (GoodFellas and The Godfather Trilogy especially), made for tv movies by the BBC, mini series based on novels (especially the PBS Masterpiece Theatre remakes). And documentaries of all kinds, but especially cultural documentaries. Disney animated movies, y'know, the basic princess ones (The Princess and the Frog is my absolute favorite Disney Princess movie), but also others such as A Goofy Movie and The Emperor's New Groove are my favorites.
Scrapbooking and Journaling.
And letter writing! I consider it a craft because I like to doodle on the pages, use washi tape, maybe paint on the letter paper; it depends on my mood really.
I like to try different crafts, but paper crafts are really all I do on a regular basis.
I'm always down for tea, something that has been a constant part of my life since I was relatively small.
My favorite tea is Green tea, just regular green tea. I'm also very partial to Jasmine tea. I have not met a tea - other than lemongrass tea - that I did not like. I love rooibos tea as well, but it's not as comforting as green or jasmine tea because it's not really a tea from childhood.
Coffee is best left to those who can brew it for me, in my opinion, as I do not quite know how to do so myself. So if you ever feel the need to swap something coffee related with me, just a coupon for a coffee shop would do, or a coffee cup, gift card, etc. I'm just not very good with the coffee maker. I don't really know how that is, either, given you push a button and let it brew. Stranger things have happened, however.
-Stories. Honestly, one of my favorite things to get in the mail are people's stories. Just general anecdotes of day-to-day life, or a story about a relative or anything that has happened to you during your lifetime.
-felt tip pens
-tea
-paper (scraps, patterned, etc.)
-green living tips
-recipes
-mix CDs are great!
-dark chocolates! (not a big fan of milk or white chocolate though).
-Stickers! (just not teacher reward stickers)
-socks, especially fun socks!
-make up samples
-zines
-lipstick in bright colors and reds
I am down for private swaps anytime you are, just let me know what you have in mind and I'll let you know if I can swing it.
Anything letter-writing related should rarely be a problem unless I'm extremely busy. I also have, at the moment, the time to do really involved things like themed pocket letters and things of that ilk. It's really whatever you can think up. Never hurts to ask, and I'm always excited to hear what someone's thinking of swapping!

Hello dear! Thank you so much for the beautiful thank you note for the pet swap. I'm glad your kitties liked what I sent and that you were kind enough to send a note even when you didn't have to. Loved it. So many many thanks!!
A big hug from Chile.
