The Gala and pre-Gala parties were great! The Friday pre-party was a couple of hundred people, held in a large private home. They sold tickets for some drawings -- El Marido won a putter. It has the theme & date engraved on it, but as putters go, it's crap, so it's really more of a souvenir... which El Marido can keep in his office at work. hahaha
The Gala was fun - 600+ people. The band was good, the food was good, the tables were gorgeous, everyone looked nice, especially all the women decked out in diamonds, faux and real.
Aaron Buerge from "The Bachelor" was there. (His uncle lives here.) Aaron's sister sang "Diamonds are Forever" as part of the opening.
This year, the money raised is going towards an Urgent Care unit and a Sleep Study Center. (Even though this is a very small town, we have a great little hospital.)
Sadly, my cam batteries died early on so I hardly got any pics. :-(
I did sprinkle A LOT of Italian herbs on my shrimp scampi tonight. I don't think that'll help tho'.
Maude(KateyB) asked me today what I do for "entertainment." I told her, "Oh, the usual smoke a bowl, err I mean I bowl. Drive around. The occasional acid flashback."
Any word yet on when you're coming to town? The Big Leb is showing at midnight on ze big screen in downtown Berkeley this weekend. I imagine bathrobes will be a popular fashion statement at the showing. Speaking from past experience.
OMG, Lulu & Gracie are twins! Did you get Lulu from a horse farm in Ocala, FL? It's uncanny how much they look alike. Gracie is ~75lb & just over 1&1/2 years old.
p.s. That reversible journal cover could not be easier to make. It's just straight stitch sewing. Don't look at the whole pattern, just follow step-by-step, doing what it says before looking ahead. You can do it!
