About Me

I'm a Geek. An Alpha geek, in fact! I'm on swap-bot because I've always had a lot of fun with snail mail, RAOKs, and enjoy meeting and connecting with people. I spend too much time (trying to) logically argue with computers and the right hemisphere of my brain needs a little kick every now and then! I really enjoy seeing what everybody comes up with and what their creative obsessions are!

Favorite Books

Mostly science fiction but sadly there isn't a lot of time to read, maybe once every six weeks or so when I'm stuck on a plane for six hours due to work!

Some of my favourite authors/stories are; Cory Doctorow, Dragonlance, Terry Pratchett, Dune, Einstein's Bridge, Ilona Andrews, Kim Harrison, Patricia Briggs, Lord Of The Rings, Origin Of Species, Ringworld, A Brief History of Time, The God Delusion, Freakanomics

Favorite Television

Babylon 5, Firefly, Flashpoint, How It's Made, Mayday, MythBusters, Supernatural, Sherlock, ReGenesis, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis.

Favorite Music

Andy McKee, Adiemus, Bjork, Conjure One, Enya, Evanescence, Jakalope, Linkin Park, Loreena McKennitt, Metallica, Silver Blue, Theresa Sokyrka, bond, Delerium, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, LIGHTS, Disturbed, Vanessa-Mae, Bjârk, The Tragically Hip, Deadmau5, Skrillex. Eclectic, I know!

Extras & Personal Swaps

Postcards and notes with a little about yourself, your location/city or favorite restaurants, regional/family/traditional/recipes and little things like that would be great to receive! Small (keychains, postcards, souvenir knick knacks, etc) or anything city/regional would also be great to pass along when I'm geocaching. Anything with a tech-y/computer/geek theme, bees or turtles would be appreciated and given a good home too :D

We can also use colored gel or markers, anything decorative to fluff out a swap (stickers, memo sheets), stamps and stamping supplies (glitter, embossing powder, etc) to decorate or swaps with.

Comment: Thank you for the tea bags & friendly note. I know what you mean about having to "see" where people live. When I send internationally, I sometimes look up people's towns/cities on the web. Welcome to swap-bot & happy swapping!

Comment: Hi Ken, what a wonderful smelling package you sent but you really did not need to spend $13.17 to send it! Loved the teas you sent and your description of them as a new tea drinker I am thrilled with the info! Loved your letter, and had no problems with the Olympics! Thanks for caring and sending such a great package. With in Canada two tea bags should only cost you one stamp to mail! I am thrilled with my very expensive teas! Best wishes and happy swapping.
