Married 41 years, 3 grown kids, 7 grandchildren, plus Missy; a puppy-baby.. Retired from community/home health care, I am very social & sing at church; harmony is my preference. I love the colour red but am finding that my eyes are being drawn to turquoise more and more. I like beads and shiny things- tassels and embellishments. I love exotic foods- Thai, E. Indian, Greek, Mexican and more. Also Lay's salt and pepper potato chips. New fave is Cheddar JalapeΓ±o. And salt and pepper wings. I wear only patchouli essential oil for perfume. I like COFFEE- not tea. I DO NOT like to be cold! I do not like to be misunderstood. I enjoy meeting new people- or hearing from them. I am always trying to see the hidden things behind people's behaviours- what makes a person who they are. I have done a personality profile and I am a "Perceiver". I like to visit the Post Secret site, Swap-bot, and Facebook. I love reading books and magazines- then I am always ripping or cutting words and good images out for collage art.
Third Day, John Mellencamp, Phil Collins, Chris Daughtry, Nora Jones, Josh Groban, Rod Stewart, Santana, Jesse Cook, Rob Thomas, Cat Stevens, Mexican and other world music. Really nearly anything I think- blues are wonderful! - pop opera, rock, folk. and I am realizing that I really enjoy country too. Lady Antebellum, Sugarland, Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban
Thrillers and dramas, some chickflix. Favorite actors- Clive Owen, Nicolas Cage, Richard Gere,(where has he gone?) Harrison Ford. And how could I forget Keanu Reeves. Love!! time travel or time change stuff. Sci/fi. Don't go to movies much. Watch Netflix! The 100, Queer Eye, SnowPiercer, documentaries. Been watching documentary type movies.
SURVIVOR!!- have watched it since the 2nd season and still love it. America's Got Talent- 'cuz you discover some great new singers there and the Voice. Not so much TV anymore but I love shows on Netflix.
Cutting and pasting= Collage=Relaxation* Stamping-cards and postcards (especially handmade)mail art, decorated envelopes and letter-writing. I will do one-on-one private swaps for hand-made or altered postcards. I do some photography and have always "framed" things in my mind's eye. I like to balance my photos and I like different angles. Also black and whites. Altered images and dream-like themes. I like anything with time or time-travel themes, used postage, vintage, trees, women. Writing letters and using a fountain pen.
PLEASE send REAL POSTAGE STAMPS on any swaps.
I love anything to do with time travel/alteration/warp etc. I like to debate issues and beliefs; motives and personalities intrigue me. I am a Christian who is very much aware of my humanity and the flaws and cravings that go with our earth-bound souls.
I spell really well and spot mistakes- it bugs me. Cant help it- we didn
t have TV growing up so I read everything; consequently, I spell well and have a good vocabulary. Sometimes I have to explain myself to people. I also talk in allegories (beat around the bush- my husband says) and hope that people get what I mean. I guess I do that sometimes in my art too- sortof a free form association of images.
I always RATE my partners as soon as I receive my swaps and I ALWAYS SEND. As if anyone ever says anything different on here LOL- BUT **If I am going to be even a day late, I will let you know by messaging you thru' Swap-bot. I give out hearts very liberally because I am just happy to receive each swap and it really doesn't hurt to be nice. I would sometimes like to get a better quality of cards but how do I know they are not that person's best work? I'd rather NOT get extras if they are just "Random Bits" as I have so many bits of my own and I often find that I don't/won't use the so-called "goodies. I think we should always put our top creative effort into every swap so... Happy swapping.
I love to read the profiles on here and see what swaps people are in. It gives me an idea of who you are and where you are in life. I love to communicate and will answer any messages. Or letters, if you want to send more words. People are the most amazing and interesting hobby you can find. We are all so unique and special and at the same time- all the same. I think I have become less judgmental as I've grown older and people are so essentially valuable no matter who they are or what they believe.
Loved the Time Traveller's Wife- Thanks to the profile that mentioned it- I didn't think to make a note of who it was. My favourite (yes, here in Canada this is the correct spelling) theme is historical fiction- generational stuff. And of course, science fiction- again, time alteration-alternate universe themes. S.M. Stirling is a good author for that. I have read all the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. I am loving the getting back to avid reading- didn't know I was missing it so much. Magazines just aren't quite the same thing.
The Shack was good for expanding my beliefs about God and The Lovely Bones is an interesting take on heaven. I like Philip Yancey- hes not afraid of the questions. Ann Lamott
s "Travelling Mercies"- her rather irreverent and un-traditional journey to faith. Also Blue Shoe- a novel. Abigail Thomas- A Three Dog Life. Very good read. Also Three cups of Tea. Shapeshifter by Holly Bennett- found in Young Adult section. Kate Morton is good too.
"Still Alice" about early onset Alzheimer's- scary and excellent. "Left Neglected" on brain damage by the same author- Lisa Genova Also enjoy Ted Dekker.
My Pet Peeve on Swap-bot is ATC swaps with a one(1) card requirement. It costs the same to send 2 or 3 so why "waste" postage- especially international. Or at the least the term could be "not take full advantage of" the postage. I often don't join a swap because of this fact.`
Thanks for thinking of me but I won't be joining any specific groups on here as I find it takes up too much more of my computer time.

Hello !! I agree with you on the Time Traveler's wife. I honestly though I wasn't going to like it but ended up crying tear after tear, even with my parents in the room... and I really don't like people to see me cry!! I apologize for the late comment, my boss flew me to Dallas for a crazy week and a late notice. Don't you hate that?? But it was fun in the end.
