I'm 35 years old, female, I live in Oslo, Norway and I work in sales. I love to read and am an avid BookCrosser. I am responsible for two Official BookCrossing Zones here in Oslo. I love animals - I keep freshwater turtles and currently have three, 2.0.0 Chinemys reevesii (Herman and Henrik) and 1.0.0 Trachemys scripta elegans (Raphael). The highlight of my year is the Eurovision Song Contest. Yay for Baku 2012!! :-D I like (in no particular order :-) eating chocolate, watching movies, traveling, playing various board games and card games with my friends, taking pictures with my trusty camera that goes with me everywhere, blogging, making Youtube videos ... I've been a Postcrosser since October and I love it. :-) I'm a huge fan of Keanu Reeves and of the comic book ElfQuest. I work as a volunteer at a fair trade store here in Oslo, and I believe strongly in fair trade as one of the very best ways to change the world.
To get to know me better, visit my blog (link above)! New post added most days. :-)
Check out my Zazzle store!!
My favorite color is green. :-) I like a lot of other colors too, and I love combinations of colors and lots of colors ... if that makes sense. :-) I prefer bright colors, jewel tones I guess, and I don't like pastels much.
If you send me blank postcards, please make them non-location-specific. :-) If you send me a postcard written on & stamped, I'd love it if it was a card printed from one of your own photos.
If you send me something, please use real postage stamps if possible. :-)
If you send me photos, I prefer them 4x6.
When it comes to beaded jewellery (which I love :-) I prefer small and mid-sized beads and don't much like chunky ones, except as single centerpieces. I prefer glass and metal beads (wood and plastic's OK if they're cool ;-). I also don't like (and don't wear!) gold jewellery. If you're making me earrings or other jewellery, please use surgical steel or sterling silver, not gold.
I signed up here for two reasons: First, I want to get more mail. :-) It was my project for 2010. Second, I need some kind of carrot to help me get more creative. I have a lot of crafty stuff lying around that I bought planning to use for various projects, but which I hardly ever use anyway. I also love shopping for crafty things. ;-) So I need something to help me push myself into getting creative and making things. Swap-bot seems like a great place for that and I hope to be really inspired here.
I don't plan to ever flake on any of my swaps ... !! :-) In fact I plan to send everything as soon as I can and do all I can to make my swap partners happy. I promise to always send out my swaps, and on time too. If you don't receive what I've sent you, please let me know!! There's nothing that can't be fixed, but I have to know what's going on if I'm going to do anything about it. :-) Of course I also promise to rate! :-)
I don't intend to copy anyone's swaps when I host my own, but there are a lot of swaps going on and sometimes similarities are unavoidable. Again, if you have any problems, let me know ... !! :-)
I reuse packaging.
I mark sent on my swaps on the day that I hand them over to the postal service. The postmark may occasionally differ from the marked sent date. Please be understanding. :-)
I try to always rate in a timely manner, however, things can get away from me sometimes ... :-) If you have sent me something and you're wondering why I haven't rated you, please feel free to PM me about it.
Terry Pratchett, Jane Austen, Alexandre Dumas, Astrid Lindgren, Tanya Huff, Fiona Patton, Sharon Shinn, Robert Silverberg (the Majipoor series), Nancy Kress, Robin Hobb, Carl-Johan Vallgren, John Ajivide Lindqvist, Jonas Gardell, Poppy Z Brite, Stieg Larsson, Katie Waitman, Freda Warrington, Elizabeth Moon, Orson Scott Card, Anne Rice before she lost her mind, Lisa Mason, Michael Marshall Smith, Tad Williams, Storm Constantine ... not necessarily in this order. :-) Except Pterry, he will always be my #1. ;-)
I like to read fantasy, science fiction, true crime, history, biography, YA, horror, nonfiction on various topics (nature, science, popular culture, animals ++ ...), historical fiction ...
Gone With the Wind, Jaws, Livet รยคr en schlager (Once in a Lifetime), Sunrise, Tokyo monogatari (Tokyo Story), De dรยธdes tjern (Lake of the Dead), Farinelli - Il Castrato, The Sound of Music, รโnglagรยฅrd (The House of Angels), Music and Lyrics, Muriel's Wedding, The Adventures of Priscilla - Queen of the Desert, Love Actually, Mean Girls, Notting Hill, Get Real, The Iron Giant ...
ABBA, a lot of various ESC stuff, Which Witch, The Phantom of the Opera, Leonard Cohen, Loreena McKennitt, Katzenjammer (the Norwegian girl band), Elvis Presley, Sarah Brightman, Liberace, a-ha, Secret Garden, Blackmore's Night ...
Books, BookCrossing, reptiles (especially turtles), chocolate (my favorite is just plain milk), nature scenes, landscapes, wild animals, Keanu Reeves, elephants, dragonflies, dragons, photography, traveling, making jewellery, hiking, walking in the woods, flowers and plants, movies, listening to music, Edward Gorey, licorice, lip balm (I use it all the time :-), raspberries and strawberries, Hello Kitty, FazerMint, stuff from moo.com, peppermint, stickers, mechanical insects (I collect these :-) ...
Places I dream of visiting one day: Japan, South Africa, Korea, Brazil
Travel dreams I've realized: China, Egypt, Peru
I've also visited almost all countries in Western Europe, and some in Eastern Europe. My favorite country to travel in is the UK.
Most recent trip: Peru and the Galรยกpagos Islands, March/April 2012
Next trip: Sandnes and Stavanger, Norway, summer 2012
Religious preaching, religious imagery (apart from churches & cathedrals in their capacity as monuments of the past), coffee, alcohol (except champagne sometimes), nuts (ie the edible variety - human nuts can be fun ;-), negativity, romance novels, cigarettes and cigarette smoke, ginger candy, Diddl, pastels, sour candy, gold jewellery, FBs/slams, anything with aloe vera (I'm allergic), cinnamon candy, makeup, anything Twilight related ...
Complete decks of themed playing cards (I collect them), stickers (especially Sandylion), sticker bags and flakes, postcards that I can use for Postcrossing, anything to do with Keanu Reeves, beads (glass, metal), glass seed beads, used postage stamps, bookmarks, BookCrossing labels, rubber stamps (preferably unmounted), nice decorative paper, pens and pencils I can use for coloring, brads, nice envelopes, official Air Mail stickers from other countries, stamp pads, unusually colored and/or shaped Post-It pads, decorative packing tape, decorative regular tape, memory wire, decorative ribbon (but not too cutesy though ;-), personalized address labels, lip balm, a dotee/amigurumi (just to see what they're like), nicely printed copy of one of your own photos with an explanatory note, raisins (but only plain ones by themselves, not in anything or covered with anything :-), spice mixes, mini Hama beads, any kawaii stuff (especially Korean), glitter in unusual colors, coins from other countries, lined note pads, tea (see below :-), paintbrushes, inchies, twinchies, hot chocolate (flavored or otherwise), mix CDs, honey sticks, ATCs ...
I'd love to do some private swaps, especially for these items:
Land O' Lakes hot chocolate
Crystal Light drink mixes
Interesting teas (see below)
Profile based ATCs
Sticker flakes
Deco tape
Sharpie pens
Tea:
I'm really interested in trying new flavors and varieties of tea, so if you're sending me some, don't worry too much about my personal tastes. I'd be thrilled to sample your favorites, whatever they are. :-) But I do like fruity flavors a lot (raspberry, strawberry, hibiscus, citrus ...) and am not too fond of traditional teas like English Breakfast, Earl Grey and that type of thing. I'll try anything once though. :-) Loose tea is OK too if packaged securely. :-)
Tazo, Stash and Snapple brands are not available in this country, so that's a great idea to send to me, because I can't buy them here. Celestial Seasonings and Bigelow's are sometimes available here but hard to find.
Music:
I like a lot of different types of music, but not all ... not rap and hip hop, not death metal and black metal, and mostly not heavy metal and country. But other than that I'm pretty open-minded. :-) It sucks that mix CD swaps won't be possible here anymore ... especially since swapping such CDs are legal in my country. But on a US site of course US rules must be followed. It really sucks though, especially since I just got hold of some incredibly cool blank CDs. So ... know what I'm sayin'? ;-)
I have no children and I don't intend to have any, but I do have an adorable niece. She is two years old, she looks precious in pink and her name starts with a K. :-)
I don't drink coffee, but you can still send it to me, I will give it to my best friend who's an absolutely wonderful person. :-)
I'm also not a quilter, but you can still send me fabric scraps, I will give them to another wonderful friend who's an incredibly talented quilter. You can see her work here: http://quiltoholiker.blogspot.com
Pride and Prejudice, The Simpsons, Futurama, South Park, The 10th Kingdom, The Daily Show, Nytt pรยฅ nytt (Have I Got News For You in Norwegian), Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The X Files, The Mentalist, Desperate Housewives, True Blood, The League of Gentlemen, Nip/Tuck, The Office (UK), Queer As Folk (UK and US), Little Britain, So You Think You Can Dance ...
A list of flakers and other troublesome persons in swaps I've participated in or hosted.
@amiliasmomma @hutman @mj @EmmainGermany @deercnc @openasthesky @Gobblidigook @kaywinnetlee @LadyAmbrosia @Whiskey
Do you think you shouldn't be on this list? Then there's a problem you need to fix.
And just FYI: Someone started a little rumor about me in one of the group forums, but don't believe all you read online. ;-) They're just imagining things. I rather think my ratings speak for themselves.
