I am a WAHM with a beautiful 8-month-old son. I work as a freelance writer/editor and have an etsy shop on the side for Christmas ornaments. I haven't decided what to make/sell in the off season, but it will probably be embroidered in some way.
I love handmade goods and little beauties. I don't wear a lot of jewelry, but I do like dangly earrings and pendants, especially lockets.
I like to cook but don't have as much time or interest since having a baby. But I definitely cook more than I bake. I like to eat sweets but don't really make them much.
I love vintage handkerchiefs and dishtowels. Great textiles of any form catch my eye, especially if it has embroidery on it.
I have a thing for birds, as long as they are more stylized and not too specific or cartoon-y. I love trees. I love images of birds in trees. I like bird cages but don't like caged birds. I know it doesn't make sense.
I knit and crochet, embroider, and work with felt. I admire papercutting and plan to learn how to do it. I sew, but my skills are basic.
I love applique and am playing with some reverse-applique ideas. I don't quilt--it makes me crazy to think of trying to get my corners to match up--but I love quilts and would like to learn how to do hand quilting.
I can appreciate a wide range of music--from classical to punk to emo to country--but I always come back to folk. I love modern folk/indie/singer-songwriter types and 1960s-era revolution songs and 19th century folk hymns. I love Christmas music especially.
I consider a book a favorite if I've read it more than once and expect to read it again. This category includes To Kill a Mockingbird, Jane Eyre, and Operating Instructions by Anne Lamott.
I'm not really into movies, and I rarely buy DVDs. But the movies that come to mind are Big Fish, Moonstruck, and Moulin Rouge.
I love Pushing Daisies and am very sad it's cancelled. The Office and 30 Rock make me laugh, and I follow LOST pretty closely, though I'm ready for it to end.
Favorite colors: Any rich colors, but especially spring green (the color of bulbs poking through the snow or tiny buds on a tree), scarlet red, harvest orange.
Boxes and bags and organizing stuff. Or as my husband calls it, putting things in tiny boxes.
Rooftops and photos of rooftops.
Miniatures and tiny things. (I just realized I've used the word "tiny" three times in this one section...)
Journals and blank books, preferably with unlined pages--my handwriting is small and the lines just get in my way.
Cherries, both the fresh or dried fruit and the design on a bag or a card or a dress.
Dark chocolate, especially European chocolate.
Vintage textiles, especially hankies and dishtowels.
Vintage sewing buttons, or interesting modern buttons
Vintage and interesting fabric trims, ribbons, and lace
My favorite ice cream flavors are Ben and Jerry's Phish Food, Haagen Dazs Mayan Chocolate (now sadly discontinued), and Baskin Robbins chocolate peanut butter.
Cats. I know I just alienated most of you, but let me explain: I get along with actual cats just fine, but I don't like things with kitties on them.
Anything too cutesy, frilly, or pink.
Pastels, neon brights
Cartoony prints and buttons
Clutter. There are many things I admire but don't buy simply because I don't have a place to put them.
