Hi there!
My name is Carime, I'm 32 and I'm from SΓ£o Paulo, Brazil.
So, below you can find what I like and what I don't, so I gotta say THANK YOU for taking the time to put a smile on my face.
Sci-fi, fantasy, steampunk, or any kind of crazy world;
Galaxies, nebulas, constelations, astronomy;
Old posters of movies, old advertising designs, Lantern Press style,Β ancient world maps;
Antique japanese and chinese culture (architecture, clothes, calligraphy, gardens, pottery)
Lakes, mountains and waterfalls (PNW I love you!), foggy or vivid green forests, autumn scenery and its fall colors;
Botanical illustrations, details of plants, gardens;
Art (sculptures, paintings, ilustrations... Impressionism is my favorite movement btw);
Documentary photography, portraits of people, manifestations of cultures around the world...
Sky with multiple colors;
Underwater life, corals, close-ups of waves, glowing sea creatures;
Details of stuff (textures);
Geometric or minimalist patterns;
Architecture Styles: brutalism, gothic, renaissance, baroque, romanesque, islamic, victorian;
Inside of churches of all religions (frescos, ceiling, windows with stained glass, details of stuff... I like outside photos only if they are from the styles listed above);
Castles and medieval street houses;
Abandoned places;
. .
You can go wild with my card. Send me your vintage, unusual, nude, or creepy card without fear.
I should say, I deeply LOVE washi tapes. It's something that make us feel the sender's thoughtfulness right away.
And colorful pens are my thing!
I prefer to receive the postcard written (alwaysss, with no exceptions, even if the swap says otherwise), and without an envelope whenever is possible (if it's a very old or delicate card, probably a envelope is better). And I love when I'm lucky to get a lot of stamps in one card. If you are sending me multiple stuff in an envelope, I'm going to ask you to use a simbolic stamp on the postcard inside, for example of 1 cent, or you can even draw a stamp, just to fill the space...
You can send me a homemade card if it's identical in quality to a store one... If it's very well made, with a vivid print, evenly glued, with a thick and firm cardstock, and if it has a image of something I said I like, then bring it on!
I also don't mind receiving zazzle, IF the card is very pretty (of something I said I like, for example) and with good material, even if the swap says to not send it. I trust your good judgement. Please don't break my trust : P
About ATC: you can make me an ATC in whatever size you want, the sky is the limit, I actually prefer bigger sizes than 64 mm Γ 89 mm.
Being called Carmine or Carima... My name is Carime;
Multiviews = 2, 3 or 4 pictures in one card. Awful idea to squeeze multiple images in a space that is already small... Simply the worst;
Big typography in the location's name: the name of the city, usually (on the photo side of the postcard)... This corny type of typography unfortunately destroys landscape cards that could be beautiful... If the typography of the location's name has small letters then it's fine. Vintage designs (which I love) usually has big/tall typography, but with them it's a different case, they knew how to make it elegant;
Illegible handwriting: I'm having serious trouble to understand a lot of cards here, with letters that have nothing of their original shape, like they were written in a total rush... I'm just asking for some mindfulness in the writing moment, otherwise it's just sad for me to not being able to understand what the message was;
Cards barely written, for example, with just "Greetings from xxxx. Best wishes, xxxx". It's not a real problem if you are not in the mood for writing, but one easy idea to fill the void is writing a random inspirational quote, I would love that;
I gotta say, It's weird to receive cards without the sender's real name (with just the nickname), and cards without the name of the city where it came from;
Adult coloring postcards;
Cards with generic short affirmations like "hello", "stay positive", "anything is possible", "keep calm and do something", etc;
Please write your real name (not just the nickname), the current date, and the name of your city on the card. If you could tell me the temperature too, for sure I'd love that;
I would love if you could write to me your favorite inspirational quotes. If you're Christian, I'd love to know your favorite verse of the Bible.
If you could recommend me the most beautiful mountains, lakes and forests from your country it would be awesome;
I'd love if you could write me something in your own language (besides english);
If you think some sentence of my profile here could be better written in another words, would you please let me know by sending me a message here so I can upgrade my english?
Thank you again for reading all of this!
Kenji Mizoguchi is my favorite director. I also love Ozu, Kurosawa, old hollywood movies (40's, 50's, 60's...), Nouvelle Vague, Italian Neorealism (Rosselini, Vittorio De Sica, Luchino Visconti) Howard Hawks, Fritz Lang, Hitchcok, Scorsese,Tarantino, Kubrick, Buster Keaton, Ingmar Bergman, Fellini, Griffith Coppola, Truffaut, Godard, Herzog, Wes Anderson, etc.
