I'm a writer and artist. I spend a lot of my time making comics—Libby Sk8er Girl, Polarnoids, and Brandy de Hex: Certified Sorceress—but I also like to make little movies and just generally tell stories. Plus, I do fan art sometimes, and I also enjoy designing things like books, logos, and posters!

In terms of techniques and media, I use a variety of techniques. Some of the things I do are 100% traditional, others are 100% digital, and a a lot of it is hybrids. When working traditionally, I do a lot with pencils and Pentel brush pens (the ones with the actual bristles where you can use India Ink and stuff). Digitally, I primarily draw with ProCreate on the iPad, but I also do a fair bit with Photoshop on my desktop computer.

I like stuff that is zany and comedic, as well as things that are a little more grounded and subtle. Storytelling and characters really matter to me, so I tend to like art that just works within itself. I'm not really a fan of gore or graphic violence, though, so even if it fits in its context, I tend to steer clear of that personally.

My favorite movie is the original 1977 Star Wars (Episode IV: A New Hope). Beyond that, I like a variety of things, but I'm especially into animation. I enjoy various eras of Disney and Pixar animation, as well as the films of Hayao Miyazaki.

It's hard for me to be more precise, because I really do like A LOT of movies, ranging from old things like Casablanca to newer things like The Avengers. This may have something to do with having a film degree…Idk…

I do like Godzilla quite a bit too.

I also enjoy science fiction and mysteries, as well as old/classic literature and comedy. I really like good, clever comedy. My list of favorite books varies, but The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is always pretty high up there.

I don't drink alcohol, coffee, or tea, and I don't do drugs, so I don't have much use for any of those things.

I like nature and animals and cars and typewriters. I like a lot of other things, too! I really like fantasy and magic stuff, as well as fairy tales and folklore from around the world.

I also have a fascination with languages. I'm a native English speaker, but I can also speak a little German. I can understand bits of French and Spanish, and I'm actively learning Japanese right now. Whatever language you speak (regardless of whether I speak it), I would love to learn about it!
