My name is Arbel, I live in one of the most interesting and special cities in the world - Jerusalem.
I'm an artistic bag-lady...['we love you Arbel'] I love my junk and do my best to turn it into beautiful things. I use mostly plastic bags, but any rubbish I can find is good...
While reading other's profiles, and thinking about mine, I realized I have a big big problem. Everyone here know exactly which color they like, what music they prefer, what kind of yarn they adore, etc... And what about me? I can't think of an I-love-it-list. I wonder what it says about my character. I'm afraid I don't have one. :-0
On the one hand I'm very picky, know exactly what I love, but on the other hand, I can't explain why I love something and hate another (that might look almost the same), I can't categorize my preferences.
But I'll try...
I'm not such a great music-listener. My taste is pretty much conservative and not audacious. Before I met my husband I used to listen mostly to Israely music (40's-70's), classical and traditional world music, classic music (from time to time), Jazz, and anything that is not too noisy. Now I usually listen to what my husband put ('cause unlike me he is great musi-listener...) so I hear a lot of Rock music, Brazilian music, and things I don't know how to call... :-)
My library contain mostly non-fiction books, most of them about environment, ecology, architecture, culture, art, craft and philosophy, and my "wish list" made up of this kind of books. I love to read fiction books as well, but usually I borrow them from friends and family.
I hate books that pretend to change my life...
I love anything made of reused and recycled materials. And of course I enjoy lot of objects and materials that can be reused for craft - * buttons * objects of interesting shaps * newspapers in foreign languages * bottle caps * special colored plastic bags * stones * colorful and interesting paper (from magazines, used gift-wrapping, food packings etc.) * and any other interesting / colorful / usable / ordinary / special things.
I love traditional crafts - weaving, knitting, sewing, quilting, embroidery, spinning, felting, crochet. I love the traditional version of them and also contemporary interpretations. Of course any material related is great- * fabric * yarn * patterns * buttons (again) * thread * beads * needles and other accessories
