3-3 is Doll's Festival or Girl's Day in Japan! It used to be a Sekku holiday but later became synonymous with wishing girls longevity and good health. This is the day people know for those towers of dolls, based on the Heian-era court of beauty.

Draw a doll of your own! Using 2x3" paper, draw, paint, or even collage a doll of any kind. Does not have to be Japanese ningyo style. You can do paper dolls, kokeshi dolls, Barbie or American Girl style, whatever.

In the notecard, talk about your doll. Is this a doll you had and really liked? Is it one you wanted when you were 5, or one you think is cool now (even if you don't want to own it?) Is this a doll that looks like how you wanted to be, or want to be now?
