Let's have a lovely yarn ball swap! I think everyone here knows what a yarn ball is! You make a yarn ball (can be one skein of yarn or a mix of tied-together wonderful fibers) and as you wrap the yarn, you enclose gifts! Doesn't that sound fun? If it does, join up! Let's set the value at 5-7 dollars U.S. You can definitely enclose new or good-condition stash items. It is profile-based, you need to look at what your partner would want in the ball, but not every single item has to be on the partner's profile. There is room in the ball for some surprises and new things that your partner may not have done/seen before. OK, this is not a really long suspense time, because it isn't hard to make. Handmade stuff can go in the ball, as well as store-bought. When deciding to give either a skein or a mix of ribbon/fiber, consider what crafts your partner likes. If they enjoy crochet or knitting, give a skein. If they are strictly mixed-media, I'd go with a mix of fiber. |
