Description:

PostSecret is an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard. You can check out the site for ideas at: http://www.postsecret.blogspot.com/

In this swap, you will have three partners to send your secrets to. Please try to have three different secrets, but that is not necessary if you only really have one secret to share.

Feel free to use pre-purchased postcards or make your own, but be sure to include your secret somehow.

Participants will have a month to create their postcard secrets.

Newbies are welcome with a completely filled-out profile, and everyone else with a rating of 3.5 or above and no recent no-sends.

Just a note about postage costs:

Domestic (within US): postcards measuring 6 inches by 4.25 inches is $0.26. Postage for postcards larger than 6 inches by 4.25 inches is $0.41.

From the US to another country, postage is generally $0.90.

If this swap is successful, I'd love to host more of them in the future. Just let me know if you like the idea of this swap, and if you'd participate in more than one.

I love the idea of this (checked out the site for the first time and couldn't help but thinking "Thank God I am not the only one...") Am I right that there is no real anonyminity (sp?) here? I would hate to swap a postcard with someone that made their head spin and then have to swap a matchbox or something trivial with them a few weeks later... Comments please...

Well, they wouldn't have to put their real name, but they would have to put at least their swap-bot username somewhere on the postcard so that you know who to rate. I doubt that anyone here would look down on someone else because of a secret, so I see no problems in swapping in the future, but I'd like to hear everyone elses' thoughts on the subject.

Whoever said that there is no total way to be anonymous here is right, but my feeling is that nobody is forcing anyone to participate. If someone wants to participate in this swap, and get rated or at least know their card arrived, they have to sign their screen name-- it is what it is.

I love post secret and get on the site every Sunday to check out the new stuff. Sorry I can't join because A- it is too late and B- I just couldn't have anyone know that it is my secret. It would have to be anon for me. Maybe I'll send one to P.S. some day.
