Description:

This is very fun, simple project that I hope a lot of you will want to try!

Sometimes journaling can feel cumbersome. "Really? I have to write an actual entry!?" Sometimes we just have something quick and random to say. "I can't believe so-and-so is wearing leg warmers in the office." Sometimes it's a song lyric that just won't get out of your head. Or maybe it's an idea for a story or a poem.

These "Random Musings" may hit you while you're watching your favorite TV show (ala Mystery Science Theater) or while you're at work, or maybe even while you're waiting in line to check out at Wal-Mart. These are the thoughts you have that don't warrant a full journal entry, but deserve to exist in the world, recorded in a handy little journal that is conveniently-sized to fit in your purse.

For this swap you will need a mini composition notebook or one dimensionally similar.

You will have just over a month to cram as many Random Musings as you can into that journal. Sometimes your musing may take a page, but usually, they will only take a couple lines as they are just supposed to be quick thoughts. Sometimes you may feel the need to doodle or use a sticker. That's fine, but please remember that this is mainly a text-driven project.

The quick breakdown:

  • 1 mini composition notebook - get them wherever you can for cheap. The link above is just an example.

  • decorated - does NOT have to be extravagant. Stickers, pretty paper, ribbon, and some marker go a long way! (see example below)

  • filled as much as you can in just over a month - Please try to fill as much as you can. No one wants a quarter-filled notebook.

Wanna see an example? This is one I did with a friend - Sorry the example is only available to Livejournal members. :( But the swap pic is a pic of one of the journal pages I did. I'll change it on occassion for your edification.

You can start this ahead of time, but I have discovered that the randomness is more interesting when it is spread out over a little time rather than trying to cram 80 pages in a week.

Please be aware that this is an International swap. But for those of you in the US, I took one of my journals to the Post Office and they told me it would be about $3.50 to mail internationally. Which is much better than I was expecting! I hope a lot of people sign up!

I grabbed my mini-comp book today! I'm ready to get this party rollin'! :)

So far, we're all US-ers, so you're looking at under $2 for shipping with just the journal.
