Description:

Coming from a textile design background, I've always been interested in what happens to imagery when it appears in multiples.

In this swap, you'll need to print multiples of one image onto a postcard. You can print very small images that don't overlap, or bigger images that do overlap.

You'll make one postcard for one partner. (No smaller than 4 inches by 5.5 inches.) Send it without an envelope ("naked"). Write a note on the back, even if you just say hi or explain how you made the card. :) Make sure any water-soluble media you used are properly sealed, so that it makes it through the mail in one piece. (Sometimes it rains outside!)

You can use any print making method you like, as long as the images used are produced by your own hand. (For instance, a hand-carved stamp is fine, a store-bought stamp is not.)

The inspiration is "organic." You might think of it as the polar opposite of "geometric" or you might be reminded of organically grown foods, or you can interpret it more creatively, if you like. Artist's choice.

A very simple example that would fulfill the requirements is carving a stamp into an apple shape, and printing it polka-dot-style onto a 4 inch by 6 inch piece of card stock. Keep in mind, though, you can get way more complicated than that!
