Description:

I swiped the swap description from @Beckra with her permission (with a few modifications)

I enjoy postcard swaps so much and am often delighted by the little glimpses of other people's lives that they offer. Here's a chance to get to know the sender a little bit better because you'll receive multiple cards from them, written and sent over the course of a week.... Interested? Read on!

For this swap you will have 1 partner, and you will send that partner 7 postcards. On each postcard you should write a diary-type entry.

Partners assigned 3/12. Write your first card on Sat evening, 3/12 and post 3/13 and write your last card on Fri evening, 3/18 and post Sat, 3/19. At the end of each day, give yourself some time to record the day's events. What did you do that day? What did you think about? Did something make you especially happy or especially unhappy? You can write anything along these lines, as long as you're giving some sort of view of your day. The next morning, pop that postcard in the mail, and write the next card that evening. Repeat until the week is out! (Of course, since no mail moves in the US at least on Sundays, the Saturday postcard will have to be mailed on the following Monday.)

If you don't have access to a mailbox every day, you can write a card a day and then mail all the cards at once on 3/19.

Types of postcards sent are the sender's choice. Both commercially produced cards and hand-made cards are fine, though if your card is delicate you may want to send it in an envelope (and that's okay for this swap).

TERMS: 1) This is an international swap; please be sure you're willing to pay international postage for 7 postcards if you are assigned a partner not in your country. 2) Newbies allowed ONLY with a fully filled out profile (more than 2 lines). 3) Swappers 4.90+ in this swap. [This is ONLY Negotiable IF you contact me first.] If there's something on your profile that you think might raise eyebrows, please PM me in advance. 4) I will not drop anyone until the Sign up deadline has passed. Anyone who hasn't logged into Swap-bot in over a week prior to the sign up deadline will be dropped. Anyone with unexplained 1s or 3s will be dropped. Don't forget to include your Swap-bot name & the name of the swap on your postcards.

I just want to make sure that everyone receives their postcards and that all swappers participating are ready to write and send! Please contact me with any questions.

If you would like to participate in the USA version of this swap: Diary Postcards for a Week - USA #2

If sending them all together as no access to a mailbox daily, all unstamped inside an envelope or each one stamped individually?

knitzwithcatz 02/24/2011 #

i would think you post each separate. otherwise, one person could spend $7 on postage, while another only spends $1. and part of the fun is getting cards for a week.

StwbyQT 02/26/2011 #

@nancyn Each card needs to be stamped individually. The only time it is OK to send in an envie is if the card is handmade = delicate. (But again, that's per each card.) 7 stamps are going to be used for this swap.

Dumb question, do we hit "sent" when we send the first one, or after we send the last one?

StwbyQT 03/15/2011 #

@smokeyquartz1980 - Hit "Sent" after you have sent your last card.

TheRealMissMonogram 03/17/2011 #

woops, I hit sent today and have not sent the las card obviously. You can't "unsend" can you?

smokeyquartz1980 03/17/2011 #

yes you can :)

StwbyQT 03/18/2011 #

@TheRealMissMonogram Yes, you can click "unsend" and then "send" on 3/18. Gotta love undue buttons. :)
