Description:

Oooh wow, itร‚ยดs my first swap here and I am very excitied to start:-) Please join this swap, when you have fun in making and answering questions and when you are looking for a new penpal perhaps!

The rules: 1. Buy a A5 (5x7) notebook (how many pages is your turn) and fill it with questions for your partner (I think 2-3 questions for one page): For example: Name, Hobbies, What makes you happy, How many plants do you have in your house? ... And also some challenges/exercise (1 challenge for one page), like: Put in a teabag, make a doodle, put in a postcard from your hometown and things like that. Make a good mix between questions and challenges

  1. You send this journal to your partner (around the 20th Feb) and your partner has some time to answer the questions and challenges and decorate the notebook nice and neat -also ther cover.

  2. The partner send it back to you. Would be great when you can send it before the deadline starts!

  3. Hopefully you have a BIG smile on your face when you read it!:-) ...and maybe you can start a penpal-friendship now...when you have the feeling that you can click!

IMPORTANT: Please make sure that you send the journal quick to your partner, that she/he has enough time to answer the questions, decotate all and send it back to you! And PLEASE be fair and send the full journal back to your partner, please take only 2 weeks!!!

VERY IMPORTANT: Join only when you have enough time for that all! Only members with a full profile can join!

By the way...when you search for a penpal and when you want to be an active member, please have a look in the group "Serious penpals only". We are searching for more members, make penpal-swaps, play games,..

Umm...what is an A5 notebook...never heard of it before...

yourkitty 01/31/2011 #

This is such a cool freaking swap!! :D

caseyjade88 01/31/2011 #

Cute idea! But unfortunately, I am not sure I can afford to do this swap at the time being :(

chrissi2286 01/31/2011 #

id love to join, but shipping internationally can take up to 2 weeks, so i dont think it would work to and from me, if the deadline was a bit long, maybe another month it would probly b enough time, id really like to join this swap.

@ aviahz: Itร‚ยดs a notebook with 20cm x 15cm! Does it help you?

@ Casey & Chrissi: Mhmm, you think you need more time for the swap? Maybe I can edit it to 16.March? Would it be better for you?

brighid82 02/ 1/2011 #

I think you should change the date also due to international delievery. I think you should give it till April 9th. 2 weeks to make your journal and mail by Feb 23rd. Then 2 weeks to fix your partners journal and mail back by March March 28th. All the time between could be for mailing internationally :) For us americans that's a 5x7 journal :)

ladywolfsong 02/ 1/2011 #

would love to see a USA version of this

Bee1981 02/ 1/2011 #

@SLWebster Thank you so much for helping:-)))

@all girls who are interested:

I CHANGE THE SEND BY DATE!!!!!

aykra 02/ 3/2011 #

I love the idea, but sadly, mailing 2 journals (to our partners, and back to the person who sent us their journal) internationally can be costly! Plus the cost of purchasing an A5 journal. Perhaps a USA only version of this where homemade journals (of the same size, 5x7) are allowed would help lower the overall cost of the swap :)

I think this is a cool idea. Being the cover gets decorated, I assume we don't have to buy a fancy journal - one question - you say notebook - are you referring to spiral notebook or more one of those bound books you find at the bookstore?

Bee1981 02/ 5/2011 #

@ morgaine: You can buy whats better for you! I have a bound book...Itร‚ยดs a bit easy to send it without spirals I think!

ladywolfsong 02/ 6/2011 #

I am actually getting excited about this..my finances are a little better and I am HOPING I get someone from outside the USA...seems like whenever I do sign up for an international swap my partner is from the US.

Bee1981 02/ 7/2011 #

I cross my fingers for you ladywolfsong:-) I started with my journal yesterday...yay...I canร‚ยดt wait too:-)

mooncrab 02/ 9/2011 #

How many pages should this journal have approximately?

Bee1981 02/ 9/2011 #

@mooncrab Itร‚ยดs your choice :-) My journal is a bit bigger ...48 sheets!

nellswell 02/ 9/2011 #

So, just to clarify, the "send by" date is when we send to our partner .... then, they send it back on good faith (with no second "send by" date?).

Bee1981 02/ 9/2011 #

@thaskett It would be great when you can send your journal earlier to your partner (around 20th Feb). It would be fine when partners send the full journal before the "send by" date back to the partner!

mooncrab 02/10/2011 #

Thanks!

salex 02/10/2011 #

I couldn' find one that was 5X7 but got one 8.25X6.125. That ok? Also, it's 96 (well, 95 - messed up a page). Do I have to fill the WHOLE book? Already have 30 done and working, but would like to know.

ladywolfsong 02/11/2011 #

@salex ...I filled probably 60 pages, I didn't count...not all, but most...different challenges like include a stamp, a coin, a poem, etc....and lots of do you like type questions...who are your family and friends...siblings....favorites: color, songs, animal...did you go to college, do you work...try looking up personality quizzes and such for ideas. Hope this helps!
