I am curious to know what unusual festivals are out there..If you dont mind, Please leave a comment with the chosen festival that you might portray on your ATC :)

We celebrate onion fried burger day (with the worlds largest onion burger cooked each year) here in my home town, and another town celebrates an apple festival. Is that the kind you are looking for?

While not quirky as such, as Australia Day is this week, I will do that

@Paulsmuffy - the idea is celebrating cultural/historic events that occur every year.. something that has a story behind it maybe.... as opposed to recent very commercialized ones- I dont know if the burger event is sponsored by burger king or something like that. In that case it wont be a 'festival' ...Apple festival- maybe.. is it like harvest thing celebrated by people every year?

Theres a fine line for example I've listed Valentines day.. some argue its a Hallmark trick, some say it has something to do with St. Valentine..and then theres that cupid story behind it... whatever the case, its celebrated since many years and all over the world with a lot of enthusiasm.. we almost celebrate it like any other traditional holiday..! so you decide..

@Maroyau .. good idea..:) With national holidays, its possible that your ATC might turn out looking like a 'Countries of the World- Australia' ATC.. Dont forget to keep the theme to celebration of a special day..

Have fun with your ATC! :)

no danger of that lol, Australia day is very laid back, all about bbq's and celebration Aussie style :-)
