Historical Recipe

I'm a big fan of old cookbooks and recipes, from The Boston Cooking School cookbook to the alarming canapé recipes of the 1950s.

For this swap, you will choose a historical recipe (anything written before 1900), write it nicely on a recipe card or decorated file card, and send it to your partner. Include a note telling them where you got it (and by the way, the Internet is an excellent place to find these old recipes) and any story behind it. If you've tried the recipe yourself, tell your partner how it turned out!

It is, of course, sender's choice, so you can begin looking for your recipe anytime.
