Description:

Another day, another bracelet. My lovely daughter is totally obsessed with making bracelets from big plastic beads with holes large enough for her to poke elastic cording through (like a pony bead, although lots of fun varieties are usually available in your craft store in the pony bead section). I love the beads we have (we got at least a pound for $3.99, and they make beautiful bracelets), but I'd like some variety.
Your job: make up two little packages, each with at least a half-cup-measuring-cup-full of beads. Beads can be made of any material, but must have a big hole (like a pony bead, rather than a seed bead). Send them to the deserving children of your swap partners. Receive two back, watch your own child's face glow with the excitement of getting something from the mail carrier, and make some lovely bracelets or necklaces. It will occupy your morning (and your little one!)

Is this more geared toward "little" kids? My daughter is 12 and has recently taken on making jewelry, so if it is something that she would enjoy, thought this would be a fun swap for her......but if she were to get plastic 'kiddish" beads, it might not be the one for her. Thanks:) Jeme

Well, they'll most likely be plastic beads with large holes. Remembering myself as a tweenaged beader, I would go with a regular bead swap, since she'll probably get stuff she's more interested in! good luck!

I haven't told my daughter about this swap because I can't wait to see her face when we go to check our po box and her beads are sitting there :)

I make children's jewlery out of nicer plastic beads ('crystals', bright colored, unique). So, whoever gets me, I have plenty of standard pony beads. Something a little different would be great. Though my 3 1/2 year old often 'helps' me as well. So, what I can't use, she will love! Thanks!! :)

I mailed my swaps today. I ended up telling my daughter about it so she could help put together the package, I hope my swap partners enjoy it all!
