Description:

This should be fairly easy since it’s an email. International geocachers are welcome!

We all have that one cache or series of caches that we thought was really interesting or the area is beautiful. There are three parts for this swap...

  1. Email your partners (3) the website address on www.geocaching.com for your favorite cache.

  2. In the same email, send a photo (obviously, only if you have a digital camera) of the area around the cache that made it so neat or if you don’t have a photo to send, send another website address describing the nearest town or another interesting site that is nearby.

  3. Tell your partners who geocaches with you and why you enjoyed this particular cache. A short paragraph will do.

The time line on this one is a little far off….because I’m going on vacation (September 15th -23rd) and I want to make sure all questions are answered before the swap begins. I will NOT be available on those dates.

Swappers should have a 4.8 rating and no no-sends within the last month. Newbie’s are welcome if you have a completed profile. Have fun!

i've heard about this before but am clueless what it is... what is geocaching? :-D

its like a treasure hunt...most people use handheld gps systems to find the coordinates of the caches. There is always a log that you sign and normally there are little trickets - you take one and leave one. Its a lot of fun - but I haven't been to very many so I'm not gonna sign up

luvcatzz - check out the website www.geocaching.com You can read about it and there are tutorials there. It's a lot of fun...especially if you enjoy the outdoors and treasure hunts...great for the family too!

The great thing about geo caching to me is that you visit places where you would never come normaly. Also I know places where there is a cache hidden and hundreds of people walk by every day without a clue!

like you belong to some sort of 'secret hide-places' club all over the world.

I already know which coordinates I'm gonig to send. It was a scary, but really fun cache to do!

By the way, our cache name is 'Alibi'.

It sounds like a fun swap, but I can't sign up now since I'm heading out on a vacation to help my brother crush some grapes for his winery. However, I'd like to share my favorite cache on the Oregon coast- which is called 'Alice's Rabbit hole.' To get to this cache you have to climb down inside a cave-like area which has buahes and tree roots inside. After you get through the hole, you end up on a private beach where the cache is hidden. It's a fantastic place - and such a surprise when you first go there! Anyway, happy caching to all you geocaching swappers!

Thank you Starwatcher...that place sounds wonderful. If I'm ever in that area I'll definately have to go there!
