I would love to join, but I do not haver any Christmas postcards. Where can I get some????? I am watching for now. Thanks in advance.

marinda 07/22/2010 #

On ebay, probably, or on amazon?? Online. I think Hallmark stores carry them around the holiday season. HTH

I usually find Christmas postcards at antique shops. I've never not found one when looking in those types of places. Good Luck!

I would love to participate! How about this, is it ok to use the front half of (pretty, nice, classy) xmas cards as a postcard? I save old xmas cards when people only write on one side, and the top/front part is left blank on the inside.

marinda 08/ 7/2010 #

It is NOT okay to use the front of Christmas cards this time. I often create a swap like that around the holidays, but not this time. ONLY store bought postcards. (To clarify: Postcards must be printed from a professional company and have the "stamp goes here" square as well as a divider line. You know what I mean. Lines for the address are optional, depending on the card.) I'm sorry! Thank you for your interest and I hope you join! Not to worry, by the way. There are usually a TON of Christmas postcard swaps during the holiday season and many of them allow handmade postcards.

okay, thank you!

May I ask if its ok, that its not only a christmas pc, but its from Finland?? They ARE real postcards like you discribed though marinda?? Just wondering if those are ok. Until then I will have this on watch until closer to the due date.

I am not quite sure I understand your question. Is this postcard not Christmas themed? If it is not Christmas themed, then I'm afraid it will not work for this swap. If it is Christmas themed, and a postcard from Finland, that is great. Thanks for your interest!

If you need some Christmas or any Holiday postcards, check out Dover Publishing. They sell books of Postcards with different themes, and they do carry holiday cards. (www.doverpublishing.com) Hope this helps. Phyllis

Everybody will be able to buy Christmas cards at any store by Nov 25, don't you think?

Unicef has wonderful Christmas postcards. You can easily get the cards and do something good in one. http://www.unicef.de/grusskarten/shop/?quid=1 this link is for Germany, but I am sure there is one for the USA and Canada and other countries as well.

I'm wondering if I will get a weird postcard (which is what I am hoping) since this is a "not your usual postcard" group. I have a christmas one which is definitely not usual but I worry the expectation here is for trees and stars and happy dancing bears

marinda 10/15/2010 #

Hm. Well, I thought that Christmas postcards weren't the usual postcard, just because of what they are. Usual postcards to me are the touristy ones you buy in Montana or wherever you went on your last trip. That being said, those of you who are expecting something different than trees, stars, Santa, etc. may want to rethink joining this swap, because it is likely that is what you will be receiving from your partners. I would enjoy receiving any Christmas postcard, weird, cute or whatever, but you will be receiving Santa and sleigh rides from me. I wouldn't mind at all if you'd like to create your own "weird" Christmas postcard swap.

iWunder -- I do the same thing :) happy to private swap with you on that note if you'd like.

Peacewytch 11/10/2010 #

I am happy with Santas and reindeer and ornaments and all that 'usual' Christmas stuff. :O) I have caroling raccoons, FYI.

Maggiesmother 11/21/2010 #

Since this is not your usual postcards, I have a jigsaw puzzle Christmas postcards. Would this be OK? Someone else had done this, but by the time I found the postcards it was over.

Thanks in advance. I would like to join. I will message you also.

Tinker60 11/22/2010 #

I'd love to get a jigsaw puzzle Christmas card. . .or even a weird or cute one as long as it's Christmas-y. . .but that's just me.

Tinker60 11/22/2010 #

Maybe people should put their preference 'cause I have both and wouldn't mind receiving either ~~

pahunt925 11/23/2010 #

weird is Ok s long as it's not offensive. anything else is fine.

Vblarney 11/24/2010 #

Christmas is christmas to me! Cutesy, sci-fi, fantasy, wood, metal, 3-D, whatever!

papercaper 12/ 2/2010 #

Why is everyone so worried? Suddenly I'm worried I'm not worried enough! Should I be worrying? :X
