41-Cent Kawaii Swap - US Only

I have alot of Morning Glory, Pretty Coco and Lovely White, is that considered authentic Kawaii stuff? I always thought it was....but want to make sure before I sign up! =0)

I've never heard of Pretty Coco or Lovely White Before, but I know the term "Kawaii" pertains to Japanese stationery while Morning Glory is Korean. I'd recommend just going with the brands listed above especially since I've come across a lot of people who don't like Morning Glory and strongly prefer Japanese-style stationery. :) Thanks for checking!

im really excited about doing this swap. i wanted to do something small before i get to doing bigger swaps.

i already put togeather my two packages and probably gonna add more neat stuff when i get my new stuff.

my only q is how do we know which parters we get...are they assigned of do you choose?

Thanks for joining the swap. I think that's a good idea to start small. :) It's easier to get a handle on that and then transition on to bigger things. :)

As for knowing which partners you get, that information will be shown to you after the 20th. Above the date for "last day to sign up/drop" is the 20th of September. On that day, Swap-bot emails the swap coordinator with a reminder to come click a link that says "assign swap partners." Once the coordinator clicks it, swap-bot random chooses who gets their partners. Once that's done, the swap participants can log in, go to the swap and they'll see a new link that says "view swap partners." Then the names and addresses of those you're sending to will show up. :) Only the people that are sending to you can see your address, btw.

If it's after the "last day to sign up/drop" date and you still don't see the "view swap partners" link on the page of the swap, then it just means i haven't clicked the "assign swap partners" link on my end.

Wait...I thought kawaii just meant cute asian stuff, not only Japanese... I have mostly Morning Glory and San-x, and I've never heard of the other brands. Should I drop from the swap?

San-X is Japanese :) Morning Glory is Korean. If you have enough San-X you could use it and stay in the swap. When you get assigned to your partners you can check their profiles and see if they like Morning Glory and maybe ask if they'd like to receive some in the swap?

Just a quick note to anyone who isn't rolling in the Japanese Kawaii stuff, or isn't sure what it is: Ebay is a godsend for that stuff. I jumpstarted my collection by purchasing a "stationary lot" on there. Just search "Kawaii" under " Collectibles> Animation Art, Characters> Japanese, Anime>". It's fairly cheap too. You can get a good sized lot for less than $10. You should have plenty of time to recieve your package from ebay before the deadline for this swap. PiNkY sWeAr

Thanks for posting that :) Ebay is a good place to find stuff, but make sure you're getting things for a fair price. I know kawaii-pop at http://kawaii-pop.livejournal.com sells things for even lower prices than at the regular online kawaii stores. It's a great place to stock up. :)

Sorry for responding so late. I'm pretty sure you're not the only who went over 41 cents. :) It's bound to happen since it's hard to tell when it's right on the nose. Thank you for spending those extra cents on postage though. :) I'm sure the people who are your partners would appreciate it. :)

well im not sure if both my partners received theirs or not. one has rated me and the other has yet to respond or rate. not a huge deal but would like to know if i need to resend or whatever. so if you read this please let me know. n_n

i received nothing from samantha. sad she cant even put some crap in an envelope and just slap a stamp on it. carla please dont feel back for the flakers in your swap, its them who should feel bad. i will continue to join your swaps so dont worry :)

I haven't recieved anything from "Awaffleprincess" i emailed her, and left messages 2-3 times. no reply, but she did log on the 5th and i sent emails before that day, dunno if she read it. Brooklynlove was also her partner but didn't recieve anything from her either, so there's no way both of our swaps could get lost in the mail... unless she went over weight. but on her profile she has a lot of no-sends.
