Description:

We will make 10 personalized swap cards for our partners
AND
A little case to hold the swap cards.

I made these for a swap a couple of years ago:

A swap card is usually about the size of a business card ( 3" x 2" or 7.5cm x 5 cm) and is included with the swaps you send.

Its purpose is to provide the receiver with information about the swap that allows them to rate you. It is handy to place by your computer to remind you to rate your partner, rather than keeping the actual swaps piled up there. As well, there is room on the blank back of the swap card to handwrite a little note just to make it more personal - if you so choose. (";)

Some people prefer to include actual handwritten notes with their swaps, and that is good too, but if you are sending out a lot of swaps, you might find the swap card is faster.

The minimum information to be included on a swap card is:

  • Your SB name
  • The name of the swap

Optional information would be:

  • Date
  • List of item(s) in the swap (if not self-evident from the swap name; e.g., if it is a "Profile Surpise Swap" as opposed to a "Handmade Pincushion Swap").
  • A friendly reminder or request to rate you when they receive the swap.
  • Decoration of some kind based on your partner's preferences as stated in their profiles.

Swap cards can be done by hand or on the computer.

The paper used should be heavier than regular printer paper - use light cardstock or business card stock. You can buy packages of blank business cards (10 to a sheet, perforated) --- at office supply stores and even dollar stores --- or you can cut the cardstock yourself.

Other than that the case should be made of something durable, the design and materials are sender's choice. The case may or may not have a closure on it (button, velcro, etc.). Since they usually stay in one place, I often do not bother with a closure.

Please check your partner's profile and make something you think they would enjoy using.

Please do not list below any requests or preferences - these should already be in your profile! (";)

Since this group is all about newbies, I will ease up on some of my usual swap screening criteria (listed in my profile). But you must have a good record on SB and a fully completed profile.

If you have any questions, please pm me and I will answer them below so everyone has the same information.

Have fun!

P.S. If any of the other experienced swappers in the group have anything to add to the above info, please feel free to post below!

Are we still going to have this swap?

Swap coordinators have 7 days to assign swap partners.

I have been away and not had much access to a computer.

I have extended the send by date one week to make up for the dealy in assigning partners. (";)

Too bad so many impatient swappers chose to drop this one.
