Let’s try a ATC for Beginners Swap? What is an ATC?? It’s an Artist Trading Card. Like a mini-scrapbook page or art sample. You can draw, paint, a collage, add embellishments, ribbons, stickers, stamp ‘em, layer it, alter it, you name it. It is a mini work of art created by you, and is then traded with others. For first timers and long time ATC makers:)) Newbies welcome! USA ONLY...I am very limited on my shipping budget! Sorry:( This swap is pretty easy, you will create 2 ATC’s. You can make them however you like, the only rules are that the dimensions of the ATC must be 2.5"x3.5", or 64x89mm. Which happens to be the same size as a standard playing card. You can use the playing card as the base or trace around one to get the correct size. It is recommended that you make them sturdy, like on cardstock or similar thickness. Don’t use a paper that is too thin, or they will rip and bend too easily. You will have 2 partners, one card for each person. Since this is a beginners ATC swap, we are gonna make it easy. Make each ATC as if you are making it for yourself. DONâ€T try to make it for your partner. Use a style you like, the technique you choose, and feel you are best at. Imagine if you got a partner with a profile that said “I only like hand drawn ATC’sâ€...and you can’t draw?? That would make it very hard and very frustrating. So make each card for yourself...and then you can send one to each of your partners. They will see what your style is, and maybe even learn a new way to be creative. After all, it is art created by you...so it should be something you enjoy doing!! Do take time on your cards, we want to see how creative you are, not how lazy you are:) ATC artists put their name and contact information on the back of their cards, like a signature and title of their piece. You also need to put your info on the card somewhere. You will have 1 week after the swap closes to send out your cards, but since you don’t have to wait for your partners profile, you can get started right away! If you already have cards made you can swap those, but these must cards made by you. Remember, this is a beginners swap, but is open to anyone who loves ATC’s, or interested in trying them. BUT, please rate nicely. If you receive a card on time rate a 5! Maybe they were going for a hodgepodge look and you think it’s ugly...that is NOT the point. The idea is to be creative and not judge on the card itself. Play nice and remember we are still learning what to do...Practice makes perfect! If you are picky and expect a professional ATC...this swap is NOT for you! You wouldn’t rate a kindergartner poorly, because they can’t do trigonometry...it’s the same thing!! Need ideas on what to do?? If you google, Artist Trading Cards, you can see many different ideas and how creative some people get. A great site to start with is ‘Art in your pocket,’...you can copy and paste the link below. http://www.cedarseed.com/air/atc.html I will angel if someone flakes, but DO NOT sign up if you don’t have time to do it! I will NOT allow flakes to participate in my future swaps. Anyone with a full profile can join if you WILL swap on time! However, if you have any recent 1's or 3's I will be contacting you for an explanation before you will be allowed to stay. I understand that life happens, but flaking will not be tolerated! Newbies can join if you have a well filled out personal profile, (likes, dislikes, favorites colors, ect) we all need a chance to get started. Ratings: 5 if swap is on time. 3 if arrives late, please don’t rate a 3 because you don’t like it! This is art...not everyone likes the same type of art. Rate a 1 if doesn’t arrive! Give a heart if they deserve it:)) FYI.....After you ship your swaps, always remember to click the “sent your items†link on every swap you do. Otherwise, it looks to others that you haven’t sent your swap on time:)) |
