Description:

Many Farmer's Markets have local, indie coffee roasters selling their delicious liquid wares. It is always a treat to hit the farmer's market early in the morning and enjoy a hot cup of coffee as you walk around enjoying all the sights, smells and tastes of the farmer's market.

There are so many fantastic independent coffee roasters that are just waiting to be shared with other like-minded coffee drinkers. If you shudder at the thought of drinking coffee that can be bought at a grocery store, you've come to the right place.

EDITED TO ADD: This swap is for all you coffee lovers that get your joe on at the Farmer's Market, or just like to enjoy coffee from LOCAL independent coffee roasters. (You do not have to buy the coffee at your farmer's market, but it should be a local coffee, not mass produced or available in the grocery store.)

  • This swap is senders choice. However, please check your partner's profile to see if they are allergic to anything or dislike something like mint or has to drink decaf coffee due to health reasons.

  • You will send your partner 1/4 lb (4 ounces) of your favorite independent coffee and a note about the coffee, the coffee roasters and why you chose it.

  • You must send the coffee in the original packaging from the coffee roaster. Please do NOT measure out 4 oz. of loose coffee from your big bag at home and send it to your partner in a zip-top baggie.

  • Please put the original bag of coffee from the roasters inside a zip-top bag during shipping to avoid having a coffee explosion in the envelope. (Double bagged - double protection.)

  • Please spend between $3 and $5 USD.

  • This is senders choice, but please indicate in the comments if you would like bean or ground, and if ground, what type. (perk, drip, French press, espresso etc.)

  • Please please PLEASE for the love of Pete, do not send anything that can be bought at the grocery store. This includes Starbucks - bless their sweet little hearts.

  • Let's make this a WOW swap - send your partner coffee that you think they will really enjoy! Sending the barest of technical requirements really isn't in the spirit of a group swap. Quality over quantity is usually appreciated.

  • This swap is international and is open to everyone in the group with no recent 1's or 3's.

Thanks for the edit, kari. Um...I don't know of any local roasters, but now I'm motivated to find out. Surely living this close to the DFW metroplex, I could discover this new world...

Found one!! And in the nick of time too. Would you believe my favorite coffee shop is a roaster?! I knew I loved them for a reason!
