Description:

This is R4 of a 12 month swap. I love charm swaps and 9 patch swaps because they are quick and easy. For this swap you will make two quilt block squares for two partners [4 squares total] using the simple 9 patch design or a variation of the simple 9 patch design. Color and design is up to the sender, but you are more than welcome to communicate with your partners if you have a color preference. Please use high quality 100% cotton fabric.

EACH SQUARE MUST MEASURE 12.5Ò€ in raw edge to raw edge. It takes a 4.5" square if your seams are 1/4". If its a little bigger, thatÒ€ℒs ok. Newbies are welcome, with at least 10 mail swaps. No unexplained 1Ò€ℒs or 3Ò€ℒs.

Please email with any questions you might have and save the space below for listing your desired colors or make sure to have them listed in your profile. Please use quality cotton fabric. If you smoke, please make every effort to send a block that has not been exposed to smoke. If you can't avoid that, perhaps send a quick note to your partner and ask if it is offensive or launder the block and put a fabric softener sheet into the package to help erase any sign of smoke smell.

Please have a complete profile so that your partner can choose colors that suit your taste, home furnishings, likes and dislikes etc. Thanks and let's have a fabulous swap again!

You must have a well filled out profile to join, I will ban as I see fit. IÒ€ℒm really excited about a great swap.

Hey partners, make my blocks teal or aqua or turqouise and white and add your name and country once on each block and I'll be so happy I'll give you a heart! (maybe embroidery your name and country or write it in a pretty fabric ink...yep, right on the top on one of the white squares so when I finish my quilt I'll know who sent me those blocks) but if hearts are not your thing, send me what you like...I'm sure I'll be happy to get them.

I really like thimbleberries and civil war reprints. These are usually burgundy, gold, brown, forest green, cream, and some blues and purples. Please no novelty prints.

I like all rich, cool, jeweltone colors: ruby red, saphire or cobalt blue, emerald green, amethyst purple, metallic touches of silver, gold or copper, and something with celtic knotwork or crows is a bonus! The lovely asian prints with flowers and nature images with touches of gold and silver are terrific. Geometrics and general floral calicoes are ok, too, as are some solids. White is preferred over off white for backgrounds.

Please no orange, yellow, ecru, off white, tan, avocado, teal or dusty blue or other warm colors. No kiddy prints.

Wow, everyone has such specifics as to what they want color wise! I know I've got a big stash, but I don't know that even I have enough colors to make everyone of my partners happy. Fortunately I've had some partners who are happy enough for me to share the best of what I've got. I like to read what people are into and try to find something they like. You see, I live in the middle of "nowhere" and to get to a nice quilt shop is 1 1/2 hours or more for me. I know I've gotten some really wonderful fabrics just from the luck of the draw. Swaps are more to me about getting a bit of another country or a different area than filling a gap in a quilt I'm working on. So, to make a long story short, please please be a bit more open to the suggestions you make for fabrics. If you can't then this is not the swap for you. Thanks.... Olga

I agree. My quilt shop is close to 63 miles away and the weather is not very cooperative. The last swap I had to order fabrics and have them mail it. Because I don't have a "huge" stash to be order specific to every partner. lol I love greens and earth tones, rich colors, even off the wall patterns and colors...actually I'm pretty open to anything (I love the b/w ones I got last month - soooo pretty)...especially when they come in a pair...lol JMO ~Susie :)

again I would love red/black and white. No novelty if possible Please. If you dont have these colors any will be fine.
