Description:

I know, I know, we all hate ATCs made of a "sticker slapped onto a piece of cardboard".

So...MAKE ONE ATC THAT GLORIFIES THE STICKER! Create fine art using one sticker as some part of a collage ATC. You can hand paint or draw extensions of it's parts, sew things to it, raise it to new heights of fabulosity with Diamond Glaze and/or emboss and embellish it to the extreme.

When all is said and glued and done, it should not be recognizable as a mere "sticker" but will have been reborn into QUALITY and GLORY as a piece of FINE ART, suitable for framing [sic].

This ATC does not have to be limited in dimension to fit into the standard sleeve (though if that is what your muse demands, then ok), as long as the basic 2D measurements are 2.5" x 3.5". Let it spin, unfold, ripple and bounce and celebrate it's poor sticker origins. Out do yourself in the making, and make every effort to please your partner as well by carefully reading his/her profile for clues.

And most of all, celebrate your own creativity and HAVE FUN!

Now for the tedious part--NO FLAKING! This swap must be fun, and FLAKERS ARE NO FUN!

Newbies are welcome as long as they swear to do their absolute best to follow the above rules.

Rated swappers--no recent ones or threes--you can PM me if you have a story.

Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! I am always wroth when I see that particular dismissal of the humble sticker, because I think a true artist can use any medium she chooses and transform it through the magic of deliberate skill and artistry. I am so there for this swap, and vow to please my partner with the glory of stickerness!

:D

Oh Joy! I just did a private swap with friends doing this, and I am so proud of how well they turned out. Who says stickers can't be professional looking? Ha!

Welcome, welcome to the lovers of gloried stickerness!

Please, while you're out and about on the forums and other swap/group endeavors, promote this project so we can reach heights of membership previously unbeknownst by human-sticker-art efforts!

This is awesome! I'm still a newbie and still limited to what I can sign up for... :-( but I'm putting this on my watchlist cause I would love to participate.

The picture made me laugh..

aguasulis, you have almost a month to get through some swaps before the sign up deadline, I hope you can make it!

Thanks revolutionoise--that was the intention--sometimes we take ourselves a little too seriously! LOL

Hi, sorry if this is a silly question but I'd rather be sure that what I am doing is correct. Is it OK to use a sticker that has words on or does it have to be more of a pictoral sticker? Thanks, Carol

I've been experimenting with some ideas & have come up with something I like so I'm joining.

Pearly163--any sticker is fine, as long is you make it absolutely glorified with art-ness.

For fine art collage info and images, google Kurt Schwitters, and Pablo Picasso--they were there at the beginning of collage art. Or, just google "fine art collage" in the Images--lots of examples for inspiration!

Hah - I used eight (8) different stickers on mine, two of them handmade.... it is practically a shrine to stickerness - yet with TASTE! I hope.

(grins cheerfully at her partner and refuses to give any further hints)
