Description:

I like owls and they have a pretty mystical meaning here in Sweden - maybe everywhere - so why don´t go crazy and make an owl pincushion for your pincushion mate?

The picture is just for inspiration and is an eggwarmer but it looked like what I had in mind AND it has useful templates.

To be able to participate in this swap you must have sent out and got rated in 20 rated type3 swaps, no 3s or 1s in the last six months. If you feel you have been rated unfairly, please contact me before signing up. I am not impossible when it comes to bad luck but I won´t make exceptions for newbies. I will check the profiles before assigning partners.

You sew one (1) owl pincushion and have one(1) partner.

Pattern, size and material are sender´s choice so you can start sewing right now. I thought it would be nice to have this done by Christmas and see the owls pop up in our mailboxes by New Year for good luck so the time between signing up and sending is pretty short.

I will angel if necessary but let´s hope it won´t :)

Happy swapping!

This is a really tight turnaround for me-- I have a lot of other projects (both SB and not) that I have to finish before Christmas, so I really shouldn't add one more... but I really do wnat to be part of this swap, and Kicki, you're such a good swapper and a good swap host!! so I'm in. :) I'll get it done somehow!

LOL this is fun! Your latest pincushions are now in an envelope waiting to be mailed out tomorrow :)

I thought we could have an insane serie of animal pincushions next year and well, an owl made a good start. Welcome again :)

Sounds good to me! Elephant is a good choice.... and of course I'd vote for a peacock ;) .... and a turtle ..... hmmm... jellyfish, maybe? ;)

I'd be game for a set of animal pincushion swaps even if they just end up being you and me only!

A peacock is a brilliant challange and would fit perfectly into the criteria of slight insane animal pincusions. I also had a giraffe in mind and a moose with enormous horns. You know I come from a very hunting-friendly part of Sweden and moosehorn hangs in just about every family´s home but mine. My dad has a very soft spot for animals and would consider hunting very unnatural so he´s the exception :).

Thanks for the pictures!

This sounds like a great idea for a series of swaps. I have also been getting a list of possible pincushion/needlebook swaps for 2010 together.

Even tho there is such a tight turnaround, since this really isn't partner specific, I took some time to make one up last night and get it ready to send. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you!!!!

Merry Christmas to you too! Til next year I thought one could have series with maybe one animal pincushion a month, this time was so quick because I thought it would be nice to get them in time for the New Year. Happy you wanted to join :)

I wish I could make things up quickly in one evening!! I always seem to end up spending too much time on my swaps. :P
