i wanted to set up a small swap that almost everyone could participate in. when my son was one and a half, i spread mod podge all over some cardstock and let him pick out little hearts i cut out to stick on all over it to make valentine postcards for the fam. then i just coated it in more mod podge, wrote on them and sent them off! they were very well received. :) now he is 2 and a half, and many of us here have older kids that can even make these totally on their own. the best part is, it only costs 28 cents to send a standard sized PC (4x6 inches) in the US! and it's still pretty low cost to mail out a PC international, so this is an international swap. it's a pretty basic swap. your kid/s get to make a PC to send to the assigned partners. some of us have multiple kids, but it will be sender's choice to send more cards or not. there would be 2 reasons for that. one - you have more than one kid and they would all like to make some. two - your partner has more than one kid and you guys feel like sending one to each of them. :) it's not expected though. if you send one PC, that will be meeting the swap requirement to earn a 5. ideas on how-to would be to use a ready made PC and decorate, use cardstock cut to size, or maybe your kids just want to upcycle and use cereal boxes cut to size. entirely up to you and your children! this could be a mommy and me type activity if your kids are really young, or entirely made by them. if this goes well, i will host more in the future. for this round it will just be one partner to send to... just to see how it goes. 2 weeks to sign up and 2 weeks to send. i hope the kids have fun with this one. :) |
