Here's the thing:

I LOVE chopsticks!

If you love them too or collect them, then this is the perfect swap for you!

This is a very easy, newbie friendly swap.

You will have two partners and will send a pair of chopsticks to each one (by a pair I mean the two sticks you need to be able to grab your food and eat).

They can be Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese... it's sender's choice.

As simple as that!

Of course, there are some rules:

1.- They must be NEW & UNUSED.
2.- They CAN'T be disposable chopsticks.
3.- They should have some decoration or a special design. Don't send plain chopsticks because they are boring.
(Edited) It can be handmade decoration.
(Edited) Only if you can't find decorated chopsticks you can send plain ones (NOT disposables) along with decorated case. It can be handmade. 4.- They must be chopsticks to eat, not for hair.

..............

Newbies are welcome only with complete profiles and hopefully a couple of sent swaps (flat mail or package).
I will not accept any 1 or recent 3, from anyone.
You need a rating over 4.8 to participate.
If you flake I will tell everyone in every swap you want to participate... forever.
So DON'T FLAKE!

This shouldn't be an expensive swap, so be nice and send what you would like to receive.

Aiming for hearts or giving them is up to you and your partner, but here are some ideas of what you can include in your package to try to get a heart: Recipes of Asian food you like and you can eat with chopsticks, a decorated (maybe handmade) paper case for chopsticks, something to rest the chopsticks on, an extra pair that matches the one you are sending... and so on. There are also many little things from Asian countries where chopsticks are used that you can send.

Well, happy swapping!

(If you have any question, please let me know!)

Can we decorate them ourselves?

inconcienciazul 09/24/2009 #

Yes, of course. Handmade decoration would make them unique :)

Please, when you are decorating the chopsticks, keep in mind that they might get wet eventually.

As I can't find decorated chopsticks anywhere, can I send traditional chopsticks in a decorated package?

Sauterelle 09/30/2009 #

Oh boy I can't wait to join this one!

Virou, if by traditional you mean the ones you get when you go to a sushi restaurant - AKA disposable chopsticks -, then I would have to say no, under any circumstances.

If you are not talking about disposables chopsticks, but only about quite plain chopsticks - lets say chopsticks made of a nice brown wood but with no decoration -, I think there shouldn't be a problem, if by package you mean some sort of case (of paper, wood, plastic, fabric...) to keep the chopsticks when you are not using them and not the package or envelope in which your are sending them.

I don't know if I made myself clear. Please ask again if you don't understand something :)

Sauterelle, you are very welcome to join this swap :)

Ok, you were very clear, thank you :)

HI! I just signed up for this swap, and though I don't have a 4.8 at the moment, I am currently hosting one and have 3 others that are already sent out. Someone rated me poorly as the package got lost in the mail :( One bad swap, and my swapping career has been stunted haha. Take pity? I won't flake.
