Description:

Life is filled with surprises and oddities.

I saw a journal swap last week. I was inspired to create my own, since that one wasn't newbie friendly. So I'll say right away that anyone with at least a couple of snail mail swaps, a 4.9 rating, and a filled profile, may join.

We are going to have one partner to make a journal for. You may start right away, because it is not profile based. However, you will be expected to make it appealing and entertaining for your partner.

It must have:

Ò€” An A5 size (about 15cm x 21cm, or 6 in x 8.5 in. slightly smaller or bigger is fine)

Ò€” At least three full-page drawings

Ò€” At least three altered pages (like a collage, things glued onto them, basically any other medium)

Ò€” A minimum of three full pages of writing. Feel free to write about your life, something inspiring, strange, uplifting, or what ever you feel you could strike the interest of a stranger with.

Ò€” As for the outside of the journal, you may decorate it yourself, or use a store bought decoration. The only thing I ask is that you do not leave it blank or boring.

You flake, you die. Well, not really. But flaking is stealing. It just shows who would be a bank robber if they knew they could get away with it. Please bank robbers, stay away.

This looks great! I hope you all have lots of fun.

I would love to do this one but I cannot draw. AT ALL. I mean my stick figures look bad. Can I decorate the 3 drawing pages in collage (a total of 6) or something similar? Let me know- watching for now! Thanks for hosting!

You can definitely do collages instead. I'm sure you will be creative with this! You are welcome to join.

I joined :) thank you sooo much!

Thanks for joining Faerlyfaerie!

I was wondering if it's possible for me to join this? I am new but I'm not a flake. I just don't want to go through the trouble of putting something like this together and not getting in for not having adequate rating.

Notti, you may certainly join this swap! Just make sure to read over the description carefully. Thank you for notifying me beforehand.

I'm really interested in joining, but I feel that 11 days might not be enough for me to make a really nice journal for my partner... Will have to think about it! Let me know if you'd be up for extending the send date by a couple of days :-)

Is it ok if I join? I'm completely new but totally trustworthy. I'd never flake on anyone!

Is a composition notebook too big to use for this? Are we supposed to leave blank pages for our partner to use later or fill most of the pages with our stuff? I am excited to get started-I just want to make sure I get it right!

Naeco 08/31/2009 #

Tpartymom: A composition book is fine, and you can fill as many pages (minimums fullfilled) as you want. Don't worry about right and wrong; as long as you put effort and creativity into it, you can't go wrong!

The time has come! Start your papercraftiwriteydrawy-engines! (=

ATTENTION: I am extending the swap deadline! Karin B aided me in realizing that eleven days is not much time to make this journal amazing. SO, don't fret, your patience will pay off when you receive your journal. And If you don't receive your journal, well, let's just say Naeco is going to be hunting people down.

No pressure! Except for flakers.
