EPUSA: Non-deco (ATC Booklet) Swap #1 In this swap, I will mail each participant a blank “deco” (decorative style) booklet that is approximately ATC size. I’m trying something different, if all goes well, this will be a swap series where everyone receives a mini book of mail art. It’s not the same as mini art journals or "deco" booklets, just a similar concept. You will use your materials to decorate the cover and label the back with your return address/email. Also, if you’d like to set a theme for the booklet, you can! To participate you must agree to do two things:
These booklets are yours to keep, ultimately. However, once partners have been assigned you’ll send the booklet out for a fellow EPUSA group member to add their art. Of course, please add art that is something you are proud to share, keeping in mind the cost to ship will increase if you use anything too rigid, thick, or bumpy. Please refrain from using any chipboard, rhinestones, or foam in these. Try to keep these flat so they can be mailed easily in between rounds. Think of them like a zine in that manner, and send them unfolded to save on postage. Then, after adding a single ATC-sized spread of art to the booklet, PLEASE sign, and date the back of the page that you created. Finally, please place the booklet in a safe, yet obvious location while awaiting the next round. Each booklet has the same number of pages, so we should have homers going back to their owners around the same time; assuming everyone who started in round #1 has participated in every round. Unfortunately, if you don’t participate in round #1, you’ll have to wait for the rounds to end before joining in. That way each participant of this “round robin” style of ATC swap gets their booklets back. I hope that I’m explaining that adequately. If the bot ends up returning your booklet to you please let me know and I can try to make arrangements so you don’t have to add a page to your booklet if you don’t want to.
I recommend sending these in an envelope with the center pages open [ | ] to eliminate bulk. They'll mail for the price of one "USPS forever stamp", as long as they remain flat and fairly flexible (remember that shipping rate is now 66 cents).
There are a dozen pages inside (not including the cover). The seam is bound with two staples, which can easily be removed and replaced with sewn binding if one so desired.
Please let me know if there’s anything else I maybe forgot to think through. |
